If you want a cheap and relatively maintainable system that still has power and expandability you should get a used Xeon workstation. They draw more power than newer machines but are incredibly affordable.

Im pretty sure those things are from back when iris pro was still the graphics core in use, so those things are basically useless. You cant even throw linux on them to wring performance out if it is using iris pro, because it isnt vulkan compliant.

If you want something cheapish that can run this, best bet would be to hit up ebay and look up a mobo cpu combo, and look for a ryzen apu that is as close to the steam deck as you can get, something in the zen 2 range. Looking on ebay im seeing a few combos in the $150-200 range with cpu, mobo, and 16 gb ram. Youd still need psu and hdd, but youd basically have a desktop version of the steamdeck, and it runs frontiers fine. Just download and install holoiso or bazzite or any number of the gaming centric linux distros and you are good to go.

You can get a whole refurbished business desktop with a Zen 2 CPU on eBay for $150~. Just saw a Ryzen 2400g mini Elitedesk for $137 on there when I googled. The past three computers I've owned were all bought this way.

Hey as long as we're talking about PC hardware compatibility, has anyone attempted dual-booting Mac to play Dream Team (or any 3D-accelerated game) without having purchased an Apple product?

Hiya! I've been really enjoying this game! But while I thought it was almost perfect, there are some glaring issues that I wish were not there, like the pop-in, the combat being too stilted, some cutscenes being unskippable, and a few other minor bugs. Do you know if this is getting a new update or at the very least a patch for this year or next?

If you have the PC version, a lot of this can be addressed with mods, but this game is almost certainly not seeing any more patches.

Far as I can tell the Apple Arcade games are only compatible with Apple Silicon devices, and you're not gonna be dualbooting Windows on a M series Mac

    Nevermind I'm a big dumbdumb

interesting little tidbit about Frontiers development that i don't think we learned before, from the latest SEGA COO interview -which you should read-

    https://www.eurogamer.net/putting-t...ame-rock-roll-compared-to-nintendos-pop-music

Iizuka not being involved till later is surprising.

    creating the biggest sonic collection
Sonic Team not having a plan is not surprising.

Iizuka hasn't made a big deal of it himself but between this and what we heard about Forces's production you can put together he's the only reason the last two games got across the finish line.

They've spoken before about how the development of Frontiers restarted after they scrapped the original version of the game, but hearing it again like this is kind of crazy lol

I really want to know what the original version of Frontiers was like and what was so bad that they had to scrap it completely.

Assuming the earliest 4chan leaks regarding Frontiers was anything to go by it was more fantasy-like with one of the Guardians or Titans being described as a tree monster rather than a robot. That might be a clue.

Man, both Forces and Frontiers had nightmare developments...do we have a common denominator? I know a lot of people would blame Kishimoto, but I dunno. Secret Rings, Black Knight, Colors and Lost World seemingly didn't go through all this, and their quality was still all over the place.

... Did Forces have a troubled development? As far as I know it was just Sonic Team sitting around waiting for Hedgehog Engine 2 for 3 years and then just half assed their way through the project for the last year, but I don't remember hearing any particular problems with it's development. I could be totally wrong though.

It's interesting, I hope one day we get a look at all of this. I remember Kishimoto saying they spent 5 years or so developing and reworking Giganto. The idea of fighting giant titanic robots is cool and I hope they stick with it in the next game. The Asura fight is cool in concept, even if the execution was a little sloppy
