I want some kind of visual taste or at least a written explanation of how it works beforehand. I’d just like to know if I should do a fresh playthrough or just continue the one I have going on Chaos Island.
Yeah, I'm very interested in this (I liked Frontiers, save some control issues with the cyberstages, but definitely felt the ending was lacking), but would prefer not to have to force myself to do a 100% playthrough all over again as I did before to experience the new content.
I too would like confirmation, but I'm 90% sure that if you have a save file of a completed game, when you go to load it, you'll get a prompt asking if you want to play the new content, and it'll take you right there. Its the only thing that makes sense to me. I know this is Sonic Team we're talking about, but still...
That or if your save file is before the ending, going to the final battle starts it and the whole ending lasts just that much longer. We'll see. Also, do we have any idea of the release time of the content?
I just wanna see what the gameplay looks like cuz that's the only part I care about. Gonna assume Sega will finally show it off Thursday morning, and if not I'll probably just wait for my friends to let me know if I should try it or not.

Yes and they're bringing back Shadow, Silver and Classic Sonic as well, and the new phase of The End involves him fusing with the Death Egg Robot, Infinite and the Zeti, and so Sonic, Shadow, Silver and Classic all go Super and fuse with the Mother Wisp to do a Quintuple Boost against the Deathinfinitend Robot.
actually like you joke but come to think of it Frontiers would be doing SA2's hidden animal mechanic a hundred times more effectively. I actually wouldn't mind if they replaced a good number of the memory tokens for chao animals...
I forget every single time but the updates come out pretty late for Euro peeps, right? If that’s the case, I should probably just go to bed early tomorrow night… but I probably won’t. I’m expecting we’ll get a launch trailer tomorrow. The return of Sonic’s Stupid Friends™️ in 3D seems important enough to warrant a bigger launch than that though, so I'm surprised. I’m personally very excited to play as the gang again.
Yikes... I hope they end up releasing this a little earlier than usual since it has story content and people will be more hype to play it. Unless the 7PM CST thing is a Steam limitation.

Saw this being shared about. Should be a helpful guide. Looking forward to seeing the final piece of the puzzle for this game. If it's successful, it'll knock quick a few "Best 3D Sonic games" down a peg in my own personal list. Since the last update, I've not had much criticism of it, and it just gets better.
So in half the world it comes out on the 29th and the other half it comes out late enough in the day that it might as well be the 29th. So why say the 28th? Just the say the 29th and then when it drops for some folks on the 28th, they can be all "WhoOAa nelly, it's early!" Granted I've been a bit more impatient because for some reason I had it in my head that the DLC was coming out on Tuesday, and did not realize that wasn't the case until Tuesday morning. Silly me for thinking new content for a game would come out on a day of the week games tend to release on.
