The trailer looked good. This is the most excited I've been for a Sonic game since Generations. Also yes, where's my chao garden?
That's the thing, was anyone expecting gameplay? We will have Origins first, and Frontiers will come out a whole year from now.
Mind you I'm not even saying thats what I wanted for this title. It looks pretty. I just wonder why ST doesn't see what they have in Sonic's own origin and background? It feels like there should be one definitively "Sonic-y" title in 3D from a style perspective but if I were to guess ST probably feels like they've already done that in their previous works. Anyway, it's not the biggest deal to me. What matters right now and the only thing that matters with this game until it releases, is how Sonic actual controls and interacts with his environment. So I guess I'm up for another 4 month wait or however long.
People are just way too fucking cynical these days. There's nothing wrong with being optimistic for something - I loved what they showed off.
I think ST is just too stubbornly wedded to the idea that they have to make "good/realistic" graphics to ever willingly embrace such fantastical environments, unfortunately. The only real exception was Generations because that was an explicit throwback. The only time they willingly try fantastical/surreal environments is in their Nintendo games like Colors and Lost World for some reason.
The producer has been the art director on quite a few recent Sonic titles, created Chao, and helped shape Sonic's new look in Unleashed. https://segaretro.org/Sachiko_Kawamura
Well, it certainly doesn't make it good either, so I'm only left with assuming that it'll be bad/mediocre cause it's the same director as Forces and Lost World. I know it's not fair to judge before we actually see gameplay, but this series doesn't have a good track record so I can't exactly give it the benefit of the doubt.
"She is known for creating the Chao and designing the Chao Garden gameplay for Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 in conjunction with Yoshihisa Hashimoto." oh my god please dear god
Could someone remind me of the story that was leaked so far? So, this open-world is the real world? Or is it some sort of digital world like Digimon?
Keep in mind that the communities we hang around in are cynical and not responding well. There are already legions of kids and adults alike who are beyond excited. Here's an excerpt from YouTube comments, for example: Spoiler: Some YouTube Comments
Does being cynical about everything that happens to Sonic a good thing to cynics? I mean there was nothing awful about the teaser trailer at all. I've never been this excited for a video game since Sonic Boom several years ago. I like this so far.
