Very nice 30-second ad posted to the Japanese Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel.

 

Oh neat the rail momentum from Forces is back. I was hoping they'd change up the animation but it's not a big problem. Hoping this means huge level skips will still be possible. Here's a small example of what it looks like in Forces. Appears to be very similar in Frontiers.

This is neat because Sam is/was notoriously critical of the game, especially during its initial reveal cycle. The fact that he said this is telling to me.

 

Even Sam says it's gonna be a good one. I'm excited, Frontiers is looking amazing, the Movies were great, Origins was decent, IDW is just excellent, and even Prime is also looking pretty good.

It's a good time to be a Sonic fan. I'm happy my favorite franchise is doing so well.

Because Nintendo has historically done this for my entire life and been known for it while other companies typically did Tuesday? What a shitty reply. Were you intentionally or accidentally being rude?

 

I wasn't being rude. In my initial post I said Friday has slowly become the industry standard instead of Tuesday. I said industry standard meaning more studios than not do Friday releases. It has been like this for at least 5 years now.

I didn't intend for my response to come off as rude and apologize however.

 

Ok, well no worries then. I have a ridiculous backlog so I typically don’t care about buying games on release day except for Sega and Atlus titles which exclusively stuck to Tuesday releases until late last year when certain games began to release on Friday. And if there’s a new game I expect will be hard to come by in the future (import or limited release), I just preorder it online and it shows up when it shows up.

So it’s a mixture of lack of interest in the majority of major game release combined with me exclusively buying physical. If I bought more games digitally and had to wait for them to unlock, I probably would have noticed. The only time a day is in my head for, “Oh, a game is going to release today,” it’s for a Sega/Atlus game which is mostly Tuesday or the odd Nintendo game which has always been Friday. Almost every other game is something I bought on a whim or have preordered months in advance.

They're probably still out there if that picture was taken at all. I don't know what rating system that is but it's not the US. Regardless, spoilers shall be abound soon.

I'm honestly torn about avoiding spoilers.

I jumped into spoilers before to see if the game is doing things I like, and has, and I'm confident it'll be good...

...but now I'm too excited for the game and I want to see it now.

Sonic jumps out of attack mode, but since the jump still deals damage, he just kinda bounces off of Asura a few times until that section is destroyed. I thought that was kinda funny.
