I swear to God Sonic Team, you better not be doing what we're all thinking. Some asset reuse is okay, but it has gotten ridiculous lately. Forces was obviously the most pathetic example. On a related note, I miss the days where every new game came with new models for the characters, even though they were sometimes shittier. Tweaking Sonic's spines and height over the last 12 years doesn't count.
Yeaaah, I'm hoping this is just the fault of super blurry video footage and it's not as Green Hill and Sky Sanctuary as we fear. But I'll be pissed if half of the game is open world stuff to mess around in and then half the game is pastiches of old game stuff because the cyberspace inexplicably tries to be composed as nostalgia trip bursts. Even if you excuse it in game with the leaks proclaiming what they do for the story's intentions, it won't be enough to justify more nostalgia bait. Sega needs to get this out of the way now rather than months from now.
