Ecco - The Tides of Time does something like that with the future levels - water with unusual surfaces, that is.

And now an announcement TO EVERYONE: While going through the forums, I saw several concepts for a classic-styled Sonic. (pictures edited by Jof, John Calibur, Psychosk8ter, Ritz and test-object) (the one on the far right beside 2D Sonic) (picture by Blue Emerald) When I saw these pictures, I decided to choose classic Sonic with slightly differed details over Unleashed Sonic. I did start a survey of who favored Unleashed Sonic and who favored classic Sonic, but I changed my mind and said "screw it, this is awesome :v:".
I haven't modeled an entire character for a while, but I made this a while ago, and might be able to remake something similar.
The second Sonic from the right looks best IMO(the one beside the old illustration). Though I'm pretty indifferent about the gloves and shoes. EDIT: oh wow I missed PJ's post. I really like that, very SA1.
Sounds like a plan. When you do it though, try to use that classic-styled Sonic in the comparison picture and use the gloves and shoes in the other picture. It would be highly appreciated.

... soooo, golden buckles? Anyways, been trying some badnik ideas, will show when I can. We're still using Unleashed Eggman, right?
Yep, gold buckles. I like the silver buckles okay, but I like the gold ones too, and since more people than me seem to favor it, I suppose we go with it. Go ahead and start doodling badniks, I suppose. I don't know for sure if now we're using really detailed robots, but I still know badniks will definitely be in this game. As for Eggman, yeah kind of, just a little bit more menacing and ginormous and rotund, like this: Oh yeah, and without the goggles.
The picture doesn't appear until I go into quoting you and copypasting the link. But what's the big difference? I mean sure, it's awesome, but it's almost technically the same thing, plus slightly modified shoes and gloves. Of course, this isn't popping up either, and I had to do the same.
