On the topic of Free Riders, is NiGHTS in it? NiGHTS was in the other two games.

Also, the lyrics were the best part of Sonic R's music; which was in and of itself awesome.

Any discussion of Riders will inevitably degrade into a discussion of Sonic R. It's like some kind of unstoppable radioactive decay.

Zero Gravity had the best plot of any post-SA2 Sonic game. Robotnik's cunning stealth corporate takeover of Monopole gets derailed by a plot element from a previous game? That's CONTINUITY, bitches.

Break Free: Sonic Free Riders Original Soundtrack announced.

Goddamn it, another soundtrack to buy. x3 At least Crush 40 did a cover of the theme.

 

"At least"? Rather like not in the least bit surprising. As soon as the game credits revealed Jun and Johnny's names the song made some amount of sense -- as yet another C40 song. The true Crush 40 reversioning was inevitable.

That said, I'm still curious to hear it. Not really expecting anything decent, if post-Heroes exploits are anything to go by.

Edit: Listening to the non-C40 theme and the melody screams of being tailor-made for Johnny's vocals, making the actual signer sound that much more awkward.

 

It's too bad Kinect is $150, since every place I go to has it overstocked. I've only seen one person buy it here, and it was, rather unsurprisingly, a couple with their 5 or 6 year old child. I do kinda want to play this, but I'm not willing to spend that much for it.

It's just as well, though. I have games I want to buy and I need to keep my bank account full for the 3DS next year.

 

I finally found a Kinect avaiable for purchase!

I played a little of Sonic Free Riders, and, the games seems a little dull. I mean, the "controls" are not soft. Also, I had a hard time learning how to make curves. Also, it's awesome to make tricks (aka, jump and steer your body). It's entertaining in the very least. I don't know if it's me, Kinect, or the voice interpretation system, but I also had a hard time making it select the right things using the voice commands. It do'nt select Tails for the hell of it. Also, it doesn't go back if I say "Back" or "Return," but strangely enough, I said "Previous" and it obeyed...

 

Apparently the Jun Senoue website now has a preview for the Crush 40 cover of Free.

S'not bad, more or less par for the course for Crush 40. I kinda like Chris Madin's voice for this song more.

 

I've played this today and thought it was rather fun. I'll probably get Kinect now.

Welcome to the past.

And now I see that they are so wrong about the multiplayer: you only have to play like that in Tag Mode. You can play multiplayer normally in Free Race mode. The second player just need to enter the play space.

 

There is now a game demo out on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, so for those of you that have Kinect and don't own Free Riders (Wat?), you can give it a try.

I just found out Free Riders is getting an OST.

 

Never doubted it would. but it looks like this is going to be the shortest OST for sonic riders with only 12 tracks.

I ordered the OST from JunSenoue.com, so it will definitely be awhile in getting here. I'll do a rip of it when I can, though.
