Sonic Free Riders

The Eyetoy failed? They sold over 10 million of them. In add-on terms, that's one hell of a number.

Also: Child of Eden is a game that looks awesome and is Kinect compatible. But you can play it with a pad too.

EDIT: Also the CD-I was a standalone system.

 

Oh I thought the eyetoy was a failure for some reason. I also thought the CD-I was an attachment on the SNES.

I was making fun of how the people in the video [mis]pronounced Naruto Shippuden. For some reason I couldn't seek in the video and had to sit through everything else to get to the Sonic part.

 

Shut up about god damn Naruto for a second, you twits. You're missing the most important thing here.

That didn't sound like Dan Green to me.

...I kinda hope it's not. But then, Vector sounded pretty similar to his 4kids actor... I hope Sonic & Tails weren't the only changes.

Although I'm pretty sure I heard Jet with a different voice too (likely, since he was voiced by Griffith before if I remember correctly and he's gone).

 

I was almost positive everyone from 4Kids was scrapped except for Mike Pollock? I have a feeling the new voice actors won't be announced; you'll just have to find out by playing Free Riders! :specialed:

(Or wait for someone to make a cutscene movie out of the game on Youtube. Whichever.)

 

I'm pretty sure they were going to replace everyone save for Pollock. It would suck pretty hard if they went back on that and we still had Dan Green Knuckles, as hilarious as he was for a while.

Edit: Anyway, as for the music the only thing I've heard is Rocky Ridge so far and...what the hell is up with that? I don't know what to make of it.

 

The game is out, cutscenes have been recorded.

This cutscene includes Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Cream, Vector and Omochao.


The Rogues can be heard in this one.


Sonic sounds very different to in Colours, and I'm going to assume that because of what this game isn't and what Colours is, we'll be hearing more of his Colours voice in the future.
Tails is still awesome.
Knuckles sounds like a better Dan Green.
Amy sucks.
Jet sounds like this guy. (Neil Goldman from Family Guy if you don't want to click)
Wave and Storm are similar to before.
Shadow, Rouge, Vector and Cream are great.

 

Amy and Cream definitely sounds like one of Funimation's actors. She sounds like Ai from Shin Chan and May Chang from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Which is okay, I guess, as she's generally good.

The other voices are actually great. Compared to the other Riders games, the lines are acted out pretty well without that forced enthusiasm or heroism.

 

Amy sounds like Minnie Mouse (this aint a bad thing though)
Sonic sounds like what he should sound like.
Tails is an example of money well spent.
Knuckles sounds like Dan Green just without that feeling of forced comedy.
Vector still sounds like a comic relief character which is what they are going for which I guess is good, but I still prefer his SH incarnation.
Shadow is a awesome, dark without sounding like he is ill.
Rouge doesn't sound like she's 50! And she sounds sexy and greedy, good choice.
Wave; for being an undeveloped character that mixes traits more than I mix my drinks, she sounds good, not too Saturday morning cartoon villain.
Jet is good, for being a nasal sounding character it isn't ear bleeding.

 

Sonic: Awesome, I love his new sound.

Tails: Tails is perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Amy: Eh, I'll get used to it. Which is more than can be said for her previous voice actor.

Knuckles: Nothing gained, nothing lost. He sounds super similar, and I honestly can't say it improves, but it isn't a back-track.

Vector: Was just extremely painful for me.

Shadow: Trying waaaay too hard and failing at it.

Rouge: Immense improvement, I love it.

Wave: Also awesome, very well articulated, with no false energy.

Jet: Better, but hardly good. Still can't stand the character, but seeing past that, the voice is passable.

Storm: Easily the worst of the bunch. He's trying way to hard and it's painful to listen to.

Omochao: Eh. I didn't pay much attention to the previous voice actor, so can't say if I think this is an improvement.

Overall, I like them a ton better than the 4Kids group. The good voices are really good, and the bad ones are roughly on par with the 4Kids... except Storm, it sounds like he wasn't even trying.

The game looks actually pretty decent, but I'm not going to fork out a ton of cash for one "decent" Sonic game and a ton of party games on a piece of hardware most likely set to fail.

EDIT: For some reason, it seemed Jet talked in a Jersey accent for a brief second at the beginning of his line... I can't help but feel it would be way better if he would

 

Alright. I like most of the voices. Shadow and Rouge are a HUGE improvement I think. I'm so glad Rouge doesn't sound so old anymore. It'll all take getting used to though.

God Amy's voice sucks so bad ugh. Cream's kinda bugs me too.

I really want this game. =( Stupid Kinetic..

 

The script and direction in this game seem to be really poor. Shadows lines are badly acted and Sonic sounds very different to in Colours, much more akin to Griffith and his Alton Towers voice. Even if this game gives us a fair idea of the new voices, we'll not be able to hear them at their best until the next time these characters appear in a main game.

 

To be honest, I actually like how Sonic sounds more in Free Riders then he did in Colours. x:

 

I like most of them, we're going to need to ask if they recorded Free Riders or Colors first, though for some reason I'm betting Free Riders.

I think every voice is an improvement really but a few I need to adjust to. Also Amy now sounds like Minnie Mouse and Shadow kinda' sounds like Zorro.
