It's so weird to me that they keep using the Journey of Dreams design for NiGHTS. Not that it makes much of a difference in this context, but the original is far more iconic.
So, where abouts is the Physical Bonus Edition available to pre-order? Amazon UK is still showing the regular PS4 release, and I feel like this is the kind of tacky shit I live for. Is it currently a US only thing right now?
Turns out the leak from a month ago about the game releasing November 7th was spot on the money. Ought to be fun how Forces stacks up to the competition after all of the other established platforming series (Crash, Knack, Mario, Bubsy, and Genesis Sonic itself via Mania) would have their respective games come out by then. Also noticed the Bonus Edition of the game will be retailing at $40. Does this price point also apply to the standard versions of the game? $40 seems to be the new price point for platformers with retail releases nowadays (outside of Nintendo games). Ratchet and Clank PS4, Crash N-Sane Trilogy, and Yooka-Laylee all started out at that price point. The upcoming Knack 2 and the Purrfect Edition of Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back will also retail at that price as well.
Man, that's weird. The official Sonic webpage has a few pre-order links but they're all to US sites. I just tried the Amazon.com link on that page and it literally just takes you to a list of Sonic related items that aren't Forces at all.. GG sega
I'm being very late here, but I just wanted to say that I really like the Metal Sonic theme they released a couple of days ago. I'm a fan of both the Spencer Nielsen Sonic CD soundtrack and this sort of electronic music from the UK (well, not necessarily Dubstep, I got tired of that genre pretty quickly), and this isn't bad at all. Also, Kenichi Tokoi is back yessss
I'm just glad both the US and JP soundtrack have found their place in the series. Kind of like how Saturn 3D Blast's music was used in Generations, whereas normaly Senoue uses his own tracks from the MD version. Stuff like this is the kind of fan service I prefer over more obvious pandering.
Forces being $40 actually has me worried about the length because Generations was only $50 and it could be completed in 2 hours. I know it won't be that short but still this has me more worried than excited.
I don't think the price has anything to do with the length. $40 just seems to be the going price for new platformers this year that don't have "Mario" in their name. If anything, Generations, Colors and the like were just overpriced and this is fixing that. Honestly though, a lot of stuff speaks to me that Forces is longer than both of them. Not that I actually know, or that SEGA is doing a good job reinforcing that with all 2 of their stages shown off, but call it a hunch.
When Taxman said Mania was longer than Generations he was going by that logic and I was in that post as well.
