Since you asked, I'm just about to check out the latest third and straight versions—but even though I sucked at whichever version I played previously, I appreciated the fact that it was different (and crazy!), and I'd be interested in you further levelling out the difficulty, adding new stuff, fleshing out the story, etc. You have some good ideas and skill, and maybe some people were just put off by the fact that they got hit with a lot of craziness at once? You're definitely one of the only people who seem to be experimenting with new gimmicks and stuff in ASM, so it's interesting for that reason alone. Keep at it, keep coming up with things, and maybe just spread the madness out so that it's more approachable. (Before finishing this post, I watched a video of the latest release; I'll try to post back whenever I've played it properly.)
I enjoyed the previous releases of ERaZor, and I'd like to see what you're going to come up with for Star Light. Maybe something focused on speed? Or play with gravity? :P
I already enjoyed your previous releases very much, so count me in for "want more ERaZor". ERaZor is so crazy that I find it very fun to play. It has rocking music and there's a surprise in every level.
Man, this hack is like what would happen if Michael Bay directed a Sonic game. Awesome. XD Hard as nails, but I wouldn't mind seeing another part to it!
Thanks for the support guys, I really appreciate it! That said, development for the SLZ Update officially started now with some ideas already in the making machine (this includes an "ERaZormized" Walking Bomb which I'll probably show off in some sort of teaser video). However, since I like to keep me distanced from rushing my work as much as possible, it'll take time (probably months) until it's done. Let it just be known that there's something coming.
I'm glad to know you're still working on this! Ever since I played the unfinished version Star Light Zone that you could get to from the level select in Version 2, I've been eager to see where you take that zone. Just wondering, are you planning on doing anything with Scrap Brain as well? I remember it being semi-playable in Version 2, but it'd randomly crash the emulator.
Actually it wasn't unfinished. It was simply never meant to be played, mostly because I didn't create said level (well, actually most of the unused levels in Version 2 weren't created by me, they were leftovers from a friend's old hack). I will create a completely new level for SLZ, mostly to match the feeling the rest of the game has with its straight lined, über fast-paced, explosion actioned concept (did that just make any sense?). As for SBZ, I planed to extend Finalor Place to be more than just a small room and a boss fight that lasts for 2 minutes max. However, I can't guarantee that it'll be in this update.
I love this hack from start to finish and everything about it that makes it so unique. What I'd love more is to see it extended. Add more to it Selbi, cause I know you got a lot in that head of yours to whip up something crazy everyone would enjoy.
Update is already in the works and I already released a few videos. I just can't get up my butt to start working on a very great part of that update... My goal is to have it done before the Hacking Contest deadline though, so it shouldn't take much more time to finish. Thank you! (And thanks for that bump, I guess. :v
I suppose he means later this month. I love your concept of WTF levels and features, Selbi, they're 100% unique! I'm eager to see what new surprises a new version will bring us... Can we expect the levels not currently featured (like Star Light)? By the way, a black version of the Bomb badnik takes warning (and so much awesomeness potential).
Yep, that's what I meant. I actually wanted to post this image a few days before the end of May, but something made me forget it. I'm just hoping I can get my ass up to actually get the last few things done before the beginning of July. Oh, and don't try begging for spoilers, as you won't get any.
I planned to release this update tomorrow on June 11. The reason for that is quite reasonable: On June 11 2011 I released Version 3 of Sonic ERaZor and this would've been the perfect anniversary. Well, shame on me, this is not going to happen at all because I still have a lot to do. But there is one thing I can give you nonetheless:
So a level in space huh? I'm guessing that bomb is discharging those projectile ball explosions like there's no tomorrow, and even more so when you damage it. I'm really looking forward to it.
