I saw that too, wanted to be sure just so I could cancel the subscription before the free trial ends.

Kind of crazy to see a 3D Sonic with floating platforms that try to fit the level aesthetic again.

getting some sa2 vibes from the level design, Soundtrack is honestly really good from what I can tell. I just hope they release it on steam in the future.

All I have to say is this game makes me realize that I've taken the stomp ability and what it adds to the game for granted all these years because this game could really use it, and can't because how the controls are set up.

Other than that great game so far.

I haven't played Dream Team, but I'm watching it and I could just feel the "oh, this really needs the stomp" feeling through the video

The Stomp was always great. A really underrated mechanic.

The levels do feel like Cyberspace, But Feel Free To Do Your Shit. Which I love, honestly. It took 25 year for somene to "solve" the orientation problem with the simplest possible method ("whatever you do, follow this general direction we're pointing in your screen"), although it's less elegant than some others. I just watched a gameplay of Ego City Act 1 that looked like a lot of fun because you can do a lt of silly shit before actually proceeding.

Granted, not all that silly, but definitely good things coming out of this game.

Absolutely loving the surreal and wacky aesthetics of this game (a giant crab boss is one thing, but an inflatable crab? That's something else). The controls have taken a bit of getting used to coming from Frontiers, but I'm having a fun time thus far. And since it hasn't been mentioned yet, the macOS version (at least) is built in Unity:

(As an user of an Intel Mac that dual-boots Windows, I also wonder how many others can claim the feat of playing Frontiers, Superstars, and Dream Team on the same hardware.)

I've been weighing my options on how much it's worth it to hack together a mac install to play Dream Team when the product itself is going to be ripped out of my hands anyway. I've already seen people opening the Unity files (sans programming, just visuals basically) so my time may be better-spent on the inevitable fan recreations. It's not like I don't have other stuff to do right now.

It looks like IGN rated Dream Team higher than Frontiers and Superstars. lol

  12. Trying to find an answer to this, but so far coming up empty... I tried playing Dream Team on my phone. And even though its the same Apple Account, it started the game over.

Then when I returned to my computer, it was also... restarted from the beginning with all progress seemingly lost. Same profile, same account. Both devices are up to date.

Is it possible to recover the lost data? I was almost done with this game!

Is it me, or are the levels maybe a smidge too big? I like the visuals and am intrigued by the level design, but when I "imagine" playing it, it seems to go a bit too easy on the analogue stick.

Naw, they're fine when it comes to scale. Mainly because the actual character movement is a bit too stiff.

Still amazes me that the only official product to get a good feeling control scheme for a 3D Sonic was a Roblox game.

It's like Frontiers where the game doesn't look like it'll be fun when watching it but it works amazing in practice.

You never feel the game or platforms are too big when you're actually playing it and given that the controls aren't super precise you end up appreciating the extra room for error (even though it's rare you'll need it).

This game deserves all the praise it's getting. It actually makes me sort of annoyed there were people at SEGA who knew how to make the type of gameplay Adventure Era fans had been looking for, for years but they were locked to working on Sonic Dash and Speed Battle.

    Better late than never.

Reading things in retrospect is a funny thing

+ - No twists or anything, story is completely straight forward, she just like to play with strings i guess lol

If this team doesn't get another shot at a full game I would love if SEGA allowed the level designers who worked on this to work on the cyberspace levels in Frontiers sequel, with similar level design philosophies, but better controls and levels designed JUST for controllers.

Feel like if they improve on the Open Zone in the next one with these type of levels in cyberspace we might finally have a Sonic game that's just great with not "BUT..." you have to add because of the parts that were lacking.

  18. Random Shadow voicelines in the files apparently.

    Might be dummied out content

Did someone say "edgy nightmare-themed update"? Probably not, but imagine it...

  20. It probably actually is, his movie next year. Perfect time for a DLC tie-in.
