If you read the tweets, the data miners were very clear that it was Dash, not SFSB. Both games share a bunch of the same assets and events though, so it was pretty much a given that these characters would show up in both games. It just depends entirely on when Hardlight put up the updates that contain the new character data. Dash was updated first, even though it looks like they'll be coming to SFSB first.
Wikia says nothing of lesbians, only good friends. The Sonic series hardly ever panders that way. At least, the japanese games continuity, that is...
@RDNexus I like to think that the characters are all sexually ambiguous, save for some set examples like Amy, Knuckles, and Rouge (EDIT: Not Sonic actually. Amy shows affection for him but he doesn't show any affection back. In fact he goes through great lengths to avoid her sometimes). Outside of that I think you can make whatever head cannon you want with them and you wouldn't really be wrong. Is Vector gay? Probably not but there's no indication telling one way or another.

The Sonic Wikia also doesn't mention Knuckles being gay, but come on. We all know. + - In all seriousness, Knuckles just has gay vibes. Tangle just has lesbian vibes. If you feel it, you feel it, and that's about all there is on that.
Do you seriously expect them to do anything other than dance around the question? Spoiler In Sonic's defense, given how strongly Amy comes on to him in some of the games, I don't blame him for running away. If Amy could just chill the fuck out, I would ship it, but seeing as she would need time to mature, and time doesn't really pass that we get to see...
I wouldn't bet on it. I don't see any issues with this as long as enough people show interest in the topic.
The fact that they utterly refuse to discuss Sonic 3 despite all the interest in that says you're wrong. At best they'd give a classic politician's answer, a crowd-pleaser with absolutely no substance to it.
I mean there's legal issues behind that, but regardless I doubt they'd give a clear answer because they probably don't have one (ex. SA2's blown up moon)

I love how in the Sonic Dash topic a conversation about which characters might possibly be gay popped up. xD I guess I need to go back and actually start reading the IDW comics since I've got a subscription. Anyways glad to see the Tangle event is live now! I haven't played Dash in a long time, and even then I last played it on my Galaxy S7, but I've since moved from Android to iPhone so guess I'll have to start a new save on my new phone.
