If you can use the Yellow Wisp in 3D, it'd probably work more like Knuckles digging or the drill from SMG2. You wouldn't be able to see where you were going with it anywhere but in water, and even then control would likely be overly difficult.
Just spent some time listening to what Eggman says in the background of videos, so far I can make out. "Please refrain from hitting the robots, they are dangerous" and "Would the owner of a white hover car please..." I love it.
You notice how that "Metal Sonic" planet isn't chained to the center of the map? You know why? IT'S STARSHIP SONIC. This was likely a space ship built by Tails for the two to rendezvous in after completing a level.
If that really is the case, then I hugely doubt that Sonic Team flat out copied Starship Mario. There wouldn't have been enough time for it to happen.
Wait, I just remembered, running out of drill while underground kills you. Is water going to be like alien blood again?
Maybe it's one of Eggman's planets/bases so it doesn't need to be chained to the resort. Maybe it's there where you get to fight or race Metal Sonic to rescue Tails and Amy if that plot happens to be true. If the whole rescue Tails and Amy is true, and if Metal Sonic is involved at all, this game is definitely going in the direction of a modern Sonic CD. And I like that
Why would the hub be all the way in the top right? Why would they lock it? They had the first 2 levels on display, if there was a hub there would be one there.
See Unleashed. See most other games. Anyway, I do believe that they said somewhere that there was no hub this time around. Anyone able to confirm that? I can't remember where I read it.
What do you mean? In unleashed there WAS no hub, unless you mean the little towns. In which case, those weren't on the map, so I'm not really sure what you're talking about.
Those towns and Entrance Stages in the 360/PS3 ver? Yeah, they were hubs. And the Gaia Gates in the Wii version (along with the menu hubs).
I don't see this game having hubs, if only because I don't see it having towns. The only hubs I see it having are something akin to Entrance Stages, which by themselves would be a bit on the pointless side, but which by themselves wouldn't be a problem by any stretch of the imagination, either.
Didn't SEGA blatantly say that this won't have hubworlds? I'm betting that bar cutscenes, we'll be seeing a mostly action-stage themed game this time around.
I still don't get your point. I asked why there would be the hub on the map screen, and you said see sonic unleashed, and the hub(s) ISN'T on the map screen. We know there aren't any towns, when the person selected the level they went straight to act 1. So what are you trying to prove?
http://www.2d-x.com/e3-2010-sonic-colors-wii/ ^ Chaos Emeralds are involved somehow. How? No word just yet. Fingers crossed for some sort of Special Stage, but probably plot-based like Unleashed, etc. http://www.aeropause.com/2010/06/e3-previe...nic-colors-wii/ ^ Confirmation that using Wisp powers is optional, and that you can complete the game without ever using a single power. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.... *halfhearted rejoicing* (loltheymispelledcyan)
On another note, some acts lead into the next. For instance, Sweet Mountain Act 1 ends where Act 2 begins, ala Sonic 3.
Aww, I was hoping the Chaos Emeralds wouldn't appear at all. They've literally become plot devices, that's all they are anymore.
