So, did anyone rip the concept-arts from the DS version? They're quite interesting and very reminescent of the arts from the Genesis games.
Mine arrived in the post today, but it didn't have the action figure with it, bah! Did the same happen to you or have you not got it yet?
uh oh, if it dosen't arrive today, you'll have to wait till Monday at the earlyest shoulda gone with play.com(£30) or dvd.co.uk(£28) XD I wouldent trust Argos to deliver anything ontime
Finally got it... problem being that I can't even play it till tomorrow afternoon. Watched a couple cutscenes on youtube and to tell you the truth its like I am watching a cartoon from the 90s! I like it. "I know I say this all the time, but this time nothing will stop me!" Also this is the third time Eggman has retained his theme... weird.
Caved in and picked this up yesterday; was originally planning on waiting to ask for it for Christmas, but decided there's other things I can wait for instead. = P Loving it so far - just about to start on Planet Wisp. Not really going for red rings at the moment, though I've been picking up any that I've actually spotted; at the moment, though, I'm just enjoying blitzing through the stages. Will go back and have an explore once I've completed the game once through, I think. Played some of the Simluator with some mates last night for a little bit - some of whom haven't played a Sonic game since the multiplayer in SA2, and before that the MD games. All seemed to agree it was pretty damn fun. = ) Overall, so far the game seems like a more-polished version of the Unleashed (360/PS3) day stages, with a bit more of a sane cap on the speed and with the addition of crazy powerups and a lot more actual platforming. And for me, so far, that seems a recipe for success! = D
Argos figures fuck-up update - So I didn't get the figures. However, checking over at Sonic Stadium, and one guy who rang was told that the figures should still arrive, provided you pre-ordered before the offer went down (which I believe was November 9th). My partner rang them to ask what was going on, they told her that they couldn't find any record of the pre-order bonus ever being offered on their system, but if it was, it should have been dispatched (seperately, it seems) on the 10th, so should be here Tuesday by the latest. Arse != Elbow, Argos.
I collected my first + - Chaos Emerald ! I hope Dusk Golem finishes the Aquarium Park red ring guides soon; I'm going to need them.
Collected all red rings of Tropical Resort and Sweet Mountain so far, and I sadly discovered that Starlight Carnival is going to be reaallyy annoying after I collected all of them in act 1 and 2.
Goddamn this game is superb. The 3D sections are fast and an absolute blast, and the 2D sections feel incredibly close to playing the old Megadrive/Genesis games. I am massively impressed with this. One tiny thing - is anyone else having quite a lot of trouble hearing anything Eggman says over the PA? All other sounds, including music, pretty much drown him out, and sometimes his voice clips just fade out before he fnishes...
Adding to the already positive reception, I am impressed. I was debating whether or not to buy it yesterday but I ended up getting it 10 minutes before Blockbuster closed. I'm not that far into it yet, done Tropical Resort and Starlight Carnival and I'm half-way through Sweet Mountain. I'm not really going for the red rings yet but if I see one, I'll generally try to get it.
So I played and beat Sonic Colours on the DS (not a lot of people are talking about this one :P). This game is far, FAR more enjoyable to me than Sonic Rush ever was. I practically raged quit Sonic Rush by the third Zone but Colours is actually really fun. Completely different from Classic Sonic games, of course, but fun in its own way. Music is really good, granted it is based off the Wii version. My favourite Zones are Planet Wisp and Aquarium Park but I really, really disliked Asteroid Coaster. For the most part, there aren't too many bottomless pits, and I was pleasantly surprised because of it! Except for Asteroid Coaster, that place has these green bubbling things all over and will instantly kill you when you touch it. Most of the power-ups were good, except for Void. It's such a pain to control, I often steered into those green pits I mentioned because I couldn't turn fast enough. Regardless, the game was good fun. My only issue was FINAL BOSS SPOILERS + - the Monster of the Week. WTF that thing came out of nowhere! And the battle was lame, nowhere near as good as Doomsday. And I am a bit disappointed that Super Sonic isn't playable in this version but we already had 2D Sonic in Sonic 4 so I've already been satisfied in that department. All in all, if you can't get the Wii version, get the DS version. It's a bit short but there's tons of replay value in it, and it is the most decent 2D Dimps Sonic game alongside Advance 1 and Sonic 4.
Is Sonic Colors for the DS at least harder than Rush? I don't want to be able to breeze through it in one sitting like I could the last two Rush titles!
I couldn't hold off on playing the DS version. Been playing it for the past two or so days. It's really awesome and very challenging later on. It's also an absolute bitch trying to find all those red rings or getting an S rank outside of a Boss Fight or Special Stage. The Special Stages are pretty fun. A little easy, but no big deal. And the bosses are great too, especially Asteroid Coaster's. That one gave me a "run" for my money. [/badpun] Also, you get a good taste of all the new VA's aside from Shadow who says little outside of "Hmph" and "Huh". Cream is absolutely adorable. And Blaze... Oh god. Blaaaze... I haven't gotten to the final boss yet, but I'm on Terminal Velocity so I'm close. Also if you don't know how to get the 7th Chaos Emerald, + - you have to get it via Multiplayer. Just challenge the CPU to a race.
ok eeerm...stupid question time....since I got the game and whatnot and im insanely enjoying it to the extreme I wanna know...how do you access to the special stages on Wii version? I can't figure it out (yes I suck)
Game planet, it's the robot Sonic head in the top right corner of the level select. New level/act every time you collect all the red rings in a stage. Hope that helps. On another track, it can't just be me that's finding Eggman's in-game speech inaudible?
yes, it helped, thank you! I'll try it right now. And yes, I can barely hear what Eggman says and I find it annoying, also they didn't even include a subtitle...
I don't think it's inaudible, but you're right that it gets drowned out. It also seems to be a 3D sound, ie. the farther you move away from its source in the level, the quieter it gets. And given that you're usually moving rather quickly through the levels, the announcements are not easily heard in full length and at a good volume level.
