It SHOULD be noted that other critics, like Nintendo Power, said the game gets difficult but it never felt cheap. I honestly don't see anything worse than what you see in Mario games.

I've played a few levels so far. The game itself isn't bad at all, and the cutscenes are actually entertaining! Dear FSM, I am surprised and pleased.

  4. I don't feel like there's any reason to get upset over a review for a website. Although it bums me out because there are people out there that will take the review to heart and decide not to play a game they might actually enjoy, but at the same time, no game can get all good reviews. It's still really early and the game hasn't even come out so it's best to just hang tight and wait to see what the rest of the reviews will look like.

I think that all the positive reviews from a multitude of other sources, especially for a series that has been as strongly criticised as this, is good enough reason to not give undue attention to one review that criticises the game for issues dealt with more favourably by several others. The game has an 80% aggregate, even including GT's score. If the GT review is enough to sway you, even in the face of a very large amount of positive press (reviews, previews, E3 impressions and so on) then you're unlikely to be convinced otherwise. Most people would prefer to look at a wider range of reviews. If you pay attention to just one, well, you're an idiot.

It's a Sonic game that has, so far, an 80% aggregated score. I'll go with that.

    wut?

There's only been 20-something reviews so far, all of which have been pre-release. Massive my foot.

Sorry, dash of hyperbole there. My bad. I'll edit my post.

EDIT: Although, I deliberately said 'press' not 'reviews'. Whilst not exactly 'massive' there's been a lot of positive feedback of this game
from previews and E3 impressions and so on, not just reviews.

If they let one bad review sway there life choices, then they have no buisness playing games at all :/

A 6.4 isn't necessarily a bad score, it's just average or fair. Nowadays, people consider anything below an 8 as 'don't buy' or a 'bad game'. It's similar to anime videogames like Dynasty Warriors Gundam or Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage. Those games were made not for mass appeal, but for fans of the anime/manga series.

If a game gets below say, a 5, then the game is questionably bad.

I think I might end up getting this game after all.

    Internet.
Did you just suggest Sonic Colors is of the same quality as Dynasty Warriors: Gundam?

Of course, all this is a moot point if it turns out that GT did, in fact, get a beta build rather than the finished review copy, as has been suggested by GONintendo. It seems somewhat unlikely, but still, would be pretty funny.

Surprised that no one's seemed to have collected all of the Red Rings and beaten all of the Simulator stages yet. Wanting to see some footage of your reward for doing so... *cough*

I'm not suggesting that, especially since the collective rating of it stands around 80. So far, the general consensus towards the game seems to be "It's good."

I'm partway there, I got like 128 Red Rings right now, only got 52 more to go though it gets more difficult the closer you get.

EDIT: Haa math... 52 more to go.

Soooo... how far are you (or anyone for that matter) in collecting the Emeralds in the Sonic Simulator?

It's a bit weird, here's the unlock list I figured for the Sonic Simulator:

    1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 5-1, 6-1, 7-1 all unlocked from the start.
40 Red Rings=Unlock Miis in Sonic Simulator
    50 Red Rings=1-2
    60 Red rings=2-2
    70 Red Rings=3-2
    80 Red Rings=4-2
    90 Red Rings=5-2
    100 Red rings=6-2
    110 Red Rings=7-2
    120 Red Rings=1-3
    Completing 1-1, 1-2, & 1-3=First Chaos Emerald
    130 Red Rings=2-3
    Completing 2-1, 2-2, & 2-3=Second Chaos Emerald
    140 Red Rings=3-3
    Completing 3-1, 3-2, & 3-3=Third Chaos Emerald
    150 Red Rings=4-3
    Completing 4-1, 4-2, & 4-3=The DAMN Fourth Chaos Emerald
    160 Red Rings=5-3
    Completing 5-1, 5-2, & 5-3=Fifth Chaos Emerald
    170 Red Rings=6-3
    Completing 6-1, 6-2, & 6-3=Sixth Chaos Emerald
    180 Red Rings=7-3
    Completing 7-1, 7-2, & 7-3=Seventh Chaos Emerald

Getting All Chaos Emeralds=??? though + - assuming Super Sonic

I only have one Chaos Emerald, but as I said I have 128 Red Rings.
