Yeah, something tells me this will be as well recieved as previous titles. Some people will find it great, but there'll be that one bad review that totally sways players away from this game.

For the love of God, keep Yahtzee away from Colors. He said the only good part of Sonic Unleashed were the night time stages.

 

Never saw Yahtzee's review of unleashed heard he had an almost rage breakdown.

He liked the warehog stages?! I thought that was something he would've hated!

 

So this video got released in a joint effort with Sonic Retro, Sonic Stadium and Sonic Wrecks. It's a cutscene featuring the new voice actors and a Wisp translator powered by Google:

Sonic's voice is going to take a while to get used to.

 

Yeah, Sonic's voice is really bugging me. The acting on the whole is above and beyond pretty much every Sonic performance to this point, but Sonic is supposed to be 15; this new voice makes him sound more like he's 25 or something. Each voice he had before had a distinct, high-pitched charismatic attitude to it; this just... sounds like a guy talking. Great line execution, but I don't like the tone of that voice at all. On the other hand, I'm kind of digging Tails' new voice—it's well acted without being obnoxious. It sounds more fit for a 12 year old than an 8 year old, but I can deal. The transition is still pretty stark, though; it'll take some getting used to.

The cutscene itself is well constructed, though, and pretty charming! I even laughed at some of the cartoon-esque humor littered about in a couple of places. The presentation on this game goes above and beyond, and I really appreciate that. Definitely looking forward to the context of the cutscene in the final game.

 

Tails voice is a massive improvement, the cutscene is very well made, Sonic feels weird but I still like it more than Griffith. Interested in hearing more.

 

That's really neat. I definitely love the fact that they hired real writers this time, although sonic's acting (character gesticulations especially) is still a little... cheesy.

 

I reeeeaaallly like what they've done with both voices to be honest... I was kinda sceptical at first when I heard they'd changed the voices, but I like them ^^

 

I'm not going to deny it, but I am seriously going to miss Jason Griffith. Yes! I said it!

After Unleashed, his voice stuck to me as Sonic's. This one...he sounds older, as Tweaker said, and it misses that higher pitch he originally had, but I guess it'll take some time to get used too. I do like it though, since it does make Sonic sound a bit more mature. Tails sounds pretty good as well. I had no problems with Amy Palant's take on it, but he does sound more like a boy here than he originally did.

Let's hope everyone else who got voice changes sound just as good.

 

Hm. Sonic will really take some getting used to if only because he sounds so different now. But he actually sounds rather brilliant. It certainly fits and the acting is top notch. Tails on the other hand sounds very similar to before. The difference he though is that Kate Higgins can quite clearly act and is able to make him sound like a voice.

Big thumbs up.

This line is great because of Tails' reaction of "... um, ok." It's like Sonic is suddenly Deadpool :b

I've another cutsceen coming.... maybe/hopefully but thats for non-community site. Yet to choose which one but it'll be different to this one certainly, show some variety.

I have mixed opinions on Sonic's voice. Tails, on the other hand, fits the character perfectly and blows the other voice actor out of the water. I am pleasantly surprised.

 

Gah. I love Tails voice. Dunno about Sonic's. Anyway, I wanna here Amy's voice. I don't I have had the chance to here her voice.

 

Not too sure on Sonic's voice, but Tails's voice is great and the cutscene looks purposefully cheesy - I highly approve.

Quite possibly my favourite part of the cutscene. :P

 

Yeah, Tails' voice is excellent, Sonic's voice is... very different. The humor is excellent, but something about the animations felt extremely awkward and kind of subtracted it for me.

Still, this is a serious step up and I can't wait to see more.

Also, do we know anything about Sega's marketing strategy for this game? I don't want all of this hard work to be all for naught because it doesn't sell well enough to put this effort in again.
