I got you hooked up. http://gene.sonicretro.org/random/colors_wallpapers.zip Only problem? White Wisp leads to a 404. Oops.

I'm finding it a little hard to be enthusiastic about this game. I mean, yes, the graphics are amazing, yes, the stage design looks solid, but I can't help but feel that it's same old, same old. Colourful new creatures? Check. Annoying as hell main theme? Check. And the website just makes the whole thing look *a lot* like Super Mario Galaxy. It's uncanny. Even the main background theme for the site is strongly reminiscent of the opening theme to Galaxy and several of the level themes. I could be wrong. I want to be wrong. Anyone got anything really positive to say about the game to get me psyched up?
Does anyone else find the level design differences between different demo videos interesting to think about? For example-- Planet Wisp Act 1, PAX Planet Wisp Act 1, Dreadknux's Recent Video Can't help but wonder if the level was intentionally "dumbed down" for demo purposes, or if it actually got spruced up between the PAX build and the one Dread demoed. At any rate, watching the two videos back-to-back makes a number of differences obvious; the early wall-running segment is a lot more difficult, the platform just before it is no longer a "dash pad --> spring" affair, but rather a collapsing platforming and a spring you need to Homing Attack; there are some different Ring placements and obviously the player at PAX didn't need to use the Spike power at any point despite taking the same route; also, the area surrounding the goal ring (which is in the same location) is completely different; a platforming sequence at PAX, a Pink Spike segment in the Dreadknux video. I can't tell if the area to the left of the Spike section Dreadknux plays through is accessible without the Spike, but it still has objects over there that make it appear as if the game wants you to, rather than go for the goal, roll over the wall and access that section from the new Spike segment, which makes me wonder what that section is even for in the newer video. In the PAX video, that section was the way the player went to get around to the goal ring in the first place. Hm.
QUOTE (TheLoz @ Oct 19 2010, 09:50 AM)

I'm finding it a little hard to be enthusiastic about this game. And, uh, I assume "colorful new creatures" is some euphemism for "shitty new friends?" EDIT: Think of it this way. The Wisps are flickies... the good kind, not the shitty 3D Blast kind... and you're busting open robots and capsules to free them! It's just like the good old days... IN SPAAAAAAAACE!
Some people say that the new Nintendo Power issue some people received this morning has a Sonic Colors review in it for both versions of the game, and the Wii version got a 9/10 and the DS version got a 7.5/10. Anyone able to confirm this here? I haven't been subscribed to Nintendo Power in yeas. >_>

In other words, he is a legendary video game music composer. Edit: Ninja'd.
I assumed it had something to do with Sega and couldn't find it on the Retro wiki. I didn't have time to google someone for as far as I knew could've been an hour, so I asked a question. I know "just fucking google it" is a common response to questions like that, but really. That wasn't necessary. EDIT: Thank you, Shade.
