Sonic Classic

    Just to get back on the topic of this, I wanted to make a new separate topic for this game. Basically, here's what levels are in and fully functional as of now.

    Features:
    Saving Menu
    Sonic, Tails, or a combonation are playable.
    Custom Music is able to be played
    Modes in the game, such as boss attack and hard mode are selectable.
    Random tasks, such as "Hit every 10 ring, or collect all rings" is a mode.

    Hazel Hills: My answer to the Green Hill of the game. Basically plays like a green hill level. Normal Emerald Hill like enemys.

    Ice Caverns: The ice level of the game. This level features both a top layer, and a bottom HPZ type structure.

    Luster Lake:This is the Labyrinth zone of the bunch. Although this level is not complete, it plays a lot like a mixture of LZ and HCZ.

    Dusty Dunes: The Dust Hill zone of the bunch. This zone does stray away from the typical dust hill hack though, I'm still considering an inside part to this level or not.

    Mystic Mines: This is my answer to Mystic Cave...if it isn't to obvious =P. Plays a lot like mystic cave. I may have an outside part, not sure yet.
    NO PICTURES
    Music Mania: I don't have any screen shots yet, can't seem to get anything I like yet. Mostly similar to the Ristar Level. May Scrap it in favor of another level.

    Robot Rave: A Chemical Plant/Scrap Brain love child. That pretty much explains it
    FINAL LEVELS:I'm not telling!!!

    So theres what's been goin on in a nutshell. I haven't decided on special stages yet, so I'm open for suggestions. I would also like to mention that Biofrost and Flare have been a huge help recently. Couldn't be makin so much progress if it weren't for them.

    I would also like to note I am open for boss ideas. Robot Rave and Hazel Hills already have a pretty concrete boss so far.

    This looks interesting - the art style is definitely in keeping with the original games and I personally love the army of mecha-sonics in Robot Rave (along with the green Gigapolis style badnik).

    However, I am curious as to how you are creating this.

    What programs/languages are you using?

    What would someone looking to do something similar research or purchase?

    It would be appreciated if you could answer these questions please.

    This has caught my attention, and I must say, that this looks very interesting, and from what I've seen so far, you've captured the classic feel extremely well, Though I can't say too much before feeling the physics of the game =P
    Overall, good job =P

    lol :P Looks pretty cool. Art matches the original style nicely. Winter hill is my fav of the levels.

    I thought you originally had Knuckles in this.

    No matter, it still looks pretty good. The level with the metal Sonic's in the back looks especially awesome.

    If you can work Metal Sonic into this (not as a playable character, but as a boss), that would be awesome.

    The levels look great! I like the lake zone the best. On the ice zone, (looking at the youtube video) sometimes it's hard to tell if a wall is solid or not untill you walk through it.

    I am really unsure of whither or not I want to have Sonic 1 and Sonic Classic together, being able to switch between the two, or not...

    Do like pretty much any other project of this nature does. A menu where you can select original or "arrange" mode.
