    Also, I really forgot to tell you this, but this game is GREAT. I've been following it pretty much since it was S2 Heroes, and I've gotta say that this one's always been one of my top 5 favorite hacks.

    Bugs I am aware of (and fixed, but no new version yet):
    • Super dash with Chaotix;
    • Vector oddities regarding running/landing on walls/ceilings;
    • the SYZ3 button;
    • Any team with Vector can't proceed from WFZ to DEZ;
    • Signposts for Chaotix are glitched;
    • The Silver Sonic glitch mentioned by RHS earlier.

    As a matter of fact, Vector is a glitch machine wherever he goes thanks to his larger hitbox. Here's what I've seen wrong when using him:
    • The switch at the end of the normal route in LZ1 kills Vector because there's barely enough headroom for him.
    • Vector can't properly run on the wheels in SBZ2. He clips through them.
    • There's been numerous times that Vector has got himself trapped within the walls when using the transport tubes in SBZ2.

    Is the Silver Sonic glitch that one where he just flies below the floor and the game locks? If so could you elaborate a little on that bug... the way you did with the DEZ final boss fix?

    Gotta bring up another bug... the MZ block... I was using Team Super Sonic, hit the switch to send it down. The characters will stand a few pixels above this glass block... always.

    First of all I LOVE YOU for making my childhood dreams come true. This project is EVERYTHING.

    Now for the bugs I had using Kega Fusion:

    - Vector glitches through many loops and ramps while going hat high speeds
    - Not sure if it's because of Super Dash being removed for Team Chaotix, but their super ending is really messed up. The sky is garbled, the game slows down a bit desyncing the music, the ending poses come out fine and are glowing (And look fantastic), but Espio's was garbled.
    - Deaths can still wrap around to the top of the screen during the SYZ boss.


    Not bugs but...:
    - I want to echo that Chaotix style needs the hod mechanic to be functional, but since this is Classic HEROES then I think that the power character in any mode should be able to call it's partners to it instantly to hold them and be able to launch them. That'd help tons with the whole loop thing
    - Holding up to spindash was annoying to me when playing as Vector since it made it harder to use his mid-air special close to the ground and, of course, impossible to do it while standing. Even if he wasn't able to do it in his original game (I'm not sure) It'd be better for him to stand there doing nothing rather than blast off in an entirely different direction imo.
    - I know that you're going for the whole speed/power/fly thing of the original Heroes, but, to me ,it'd make more sense that Espio have the automatic-wall-breaking-ability while moving since he is supposed to be able to destroy badniks while running a full speed already because of the horn on his head (I don't know if that part is true in this game yet).

    Again, thank you sooooooo much for this wonderful wonderful mod. I'm gonna be playing it all weekend.

    We had such a blast tonight on combi mode. It really is so much better playing with someone in real life than with the computers. We just used Sonic and Knuckles tonight and are gonna find someone to be Tails tomorrow night.

    Just realized that this game's character roster so far consists of the original lineup for Knuckles Chaotix. Pretty cool.

    Responding to above, I'd argue against going the entire Heroes route for every team. IMO this was something that hindered the original Heroes... Everyone felt and played the exact same. I like Espio's wall climb, and Vector's abilities. I'd stay away from Charmy flying the team around... it's too ridiculous. That all said, I love playing as Chaotix. it does feel different... it could use just a little more to give it its own identity. Some more notes I have:
    • I'd like to see Espio get his invisibility... allowing him to avoid detection by Buzz Bombers and Bombs, and Orbinauts. Love the fact that he changes colors. Great stuff.
    • I love the fact that no one on Chaotix has Shield Abilities. Makes Team Sonic more unique. I'd get rid of the Up+Spindash for Chaotix though.
    • My one request for Charmy... he can spin jump while in CPU mode, for obvious reasons... can we not allow players to do this too? Maybe C does his flying, and B does spin jumping.
    The team is in its early form though... so I'd imagine that any new changes and fixes WILL indeed come down the line later.

    Actually mine is a different one... not even involving anyone from Chaotix. I'll put it in the pile of save states I'm putting together

    Uff... you know, Vector's size is a pain to handle. I already did tons of modifications to the engine, and he is still buggy as hell. I think I will reduce his hitbox a lot for the next version. Charmy's small size was much easier to handle...

    Edit:
    No, it is the one where killing him on specific frames cause him to become a burning flame on air instead of being destroyed. How do I trigger the one you mention?

    Hrm. I did some performance edits on this kind of block, and apparently it broke this particular one.

    It is, yes; I didn't test it in that mode before.

    Look up or down for something akin to hold. If you mean 'hold' as in carrying the other player, this is a lot more tricky, and there is no equivalent planned yet.

    He is supposed to do that? I could not find any badniks to try on in Chaotix (on the levels I played, anyway)...

    A few site have it listed as an ability of his (find the word "horn"), but after a few attempts in-game I wasn't able to pull it off.

    Yeah, I finally managed to track a badnik to try it on and it just didn't happen. It does sound like something fun, and wouldn't be hard to code it in, though; I will have to think on it.

    Poor Mighty, hmm, I remember hearing about a Team Rose with Blaze, Cream, and Amy so I can't wait for that whenever that happens, any ideas for Team Dark? You know like replacing Omega with Mighty? I dunno, thank you for the new update.

    I feel bad for not keeping up with this hack's progress since last year. I've missed out on most of these updates until a friend told me about it on Skype last night. I absolutely love Chaotix mode with three characters in Casino Nights Zone, it's legit pinball madness! And playing around with Sonic & Tails, ala Crackers style, is a lot of fun too; the addition of the Chaotix guys is icing on the cake. I'm enjoying Sonic 1/2 in ways I never could before, this is amazing! I can't believe how far this hack has come since I last played with it.

    After catching a glimmer of "Starring Amy Rose" in one of the splash screens, I'm a bit hopeful too. Too bad the most complete sprite sheet of Cream is missing half the frames you'd need to make her playable, so there's a lot of work that'd need to be done to make it happen. Although there are plenty of complete sheets of Amy, and I can attest to a Blaze sheet existing, at least. (But I'm just now getting around to finishing the last two animation sets for it, so it'll be usable in Sonic 2 hacks.)

    Actually, E-122-Psi is a boss and and made complete sprite sets of Cream and modern Amy for one of his various character hacks, so adding them should theoretically be a piece of cake. My main concern is with Blaze (or Big, if we're sticking with the teams from Sonic Heroes).

    If not blaze, you could always go for sally. The pallet would match closer to Cream to have a bit more wiggle room.

    There's a trick to advance to Death Egg Zone with Chaotix:

    - After defeat the boss, jump below with Vector holding to right, be sure to have Espio or Charmy following you.
    - Vector will walk a bit and then stop. Before he stops, change to Espio or Charmy and they'll continue until the end of plataform to jump in the tornado.

    But yet, you need to make this in the right time, because there's possibility to they run more and fall to death. =P

    Really, this hack is amazing! It was before, but with the Chaotix is a lot better, the game feels totally new with their abilities.


    For extra teams, since it's called "Sonic Classic Heroes", better stick with classic and Sega Sonic characters IMO. For example Amy-Mighty-Ray and Fang-Bean-Bark. But have nothing against Cream or Sally in the game.

    For what is worth, currently planned teams are:
    • Team Super;
    • Team Hyper;
    • Team Mini: Sonic, Tails and Knuckles using their S3&K 2p sprite sheets completed to all S2 sprites;
    • Team Glitch: Ashura, Blue Knuckles and a glitched Tails (maybe Wechnia as he was in prototype 0111? Will need an additional copy of Knuckles' art, though);
    • Team Rose: Amy, Cream and Tikal (art to be done when E-122-Psi has time to do it);
    • Team SegaSonic: Sonic, Ray, Mighty (need someone to do Ray and Mighty);
    • A team by Aquaslash (whose members I will not reveal; there have been a few dropped hints).

    Did you ever fix the extremely similar glitch to the ARZ boss? Oh you know, when you hit him at a certain point to destroy him, he doesn't explode and zooms to the right and the boss ends way too quickly? Making the egg prison also glitched up? It's rare it happens, but in my S2R, due to Eggman making more hits, it's more common in my game =P


    Don't know if this has been mentioned already (can't be ass to look) but here's a glitch

    If you're the main character on the pole and the CPU destroys the boss, the main character will remain standing in mid-air. Although as soon as the poles delete themselves, the character will fall. Seems like the clearing of the standing flag is way too late.

    Yes, the ARZ boss has been fixed for quite a while. And I now fixed the pillars, so thanks.

    Edit: For what is worth: I already rained on the contest's parade by releasing before the contest week; even though it was a result of miscommunication (I believed that the hacks would be available starting the day after the update deadline was over). As a result, I decided to hold off the bugfix release(s) until after contest week. But please keep sending the bug reports anyway.

    I'd be willing to lend a hand with Mighty and Ray. I have Mighty and Ray sprites for all styles and occasions because I'm obsessed! :v:

    I'm assuming you'd either want them in a classic style like S1/S2/Chaotix? Or S3 to match Sonic?
