I'm drawing something, not that you'll ever see it.
I only skimmed over them, but I went back pretty far. So either I'm remembering incorrectly or you didn't go back far enough.

But it's a pretty common complaint among most kids, who see that the classic games are 2D and say "Wow, I didn't know that Sonic used to suck. Thank god for shadow the hedgehog, if it wasn't for him this franchise would be gay and stupid, and no one would like it. But at least Sega finally realized that the original gamesmare GAY AND FOR FAGZ."

And then they notice that recent Sonic games are more light-hearted, and actually GOOD for once and they're like "O MY GOD SEGA IS TURNING GAY AGAIN THEY CUD HAVE MADE SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG 2 BUT INSTEAD THEY MAKE STOOPID GAMES FOR BABY HEADED FAGZ."

I'm quoting most of this word for word, from people that I personally know. Seriously.

    But you get my point.

On a less negative note, I finally got the hang of that ridiculously small d-pad. Yay for me.

  3. Sticking silly foam buttons on a capacitive touch screen is god damn stupid.

I'm happy that Phones are evolving and such, with the whole touch, multi-touch thing. But I still enjoy physical buttons.

Thus, I stick with my Desire Z, and thank Taxman / Who-ever did the Android port for mapping the controls to my Physical keyboard on my Android device. Shame about it being WASD though, my ASD key's are in a row.. WASZ is better.

Not to to sound negative on what a lot of praise has gone out, but Taxman has done a good job creating this fabulous engine. But as much as the community may dislike it, I'm willing to assume others were also majorly involved and I believe some thanks are also due to them. So to them- thanks!

I love the special stages. The scaling/perspective is much better/cleaner than it was in the original. Now when I mess up it's my fault.

But that's not why they rated it a 1 star. A ton of complaints are the connection issues and being frustrated they can't get a refund.

    Which is completely justifiable.

I wasn't criticizing those guys. I would be just as pissed if that happened to me.

And the bug I mentioned earlier, has that been mentioned before? Or has anyone else gotten it? It happened to me, and I messed around until it stopped. But it looks like that hasn't been working for plenty of people, especially those with the first iPad.

SEGA oughts to send a spokesperson of some kind on the Market to sort this out, I guess.
    Anyone?

Finally got a chance to play this remake on my iPod... the charger I ordered finally came in. I dunno if its just me but the game plays so smoothly. And its like this screen is made for Sonic CD. I love it!

Pretty much its Sonic CD with some neat features, so I don't really need to praise the game. But I'm loving all of the new touches Taxman's done with the game, mostly all the new effects replacing the old ones (proper fading to black, proper transparencies, the item boxes fading out etc.) The new menu feels nice and smooth. Oh! And floating platforms, Sonic no longer floats on them. Its pixel perfect like the Genesis game (small thing, but I've always noticed it).

I SUCK at the special stages with touch controls though. I'm usually pretty boss at them. Either way, I absolutely love how the new special stages look, its so smooth.

And really, that's what I gotta say about this. It's nice and smooth, it's Sonic CD as I've always imagined it!

So yeah, gonna double dip when the PSN version comes out tomorrow. Will also be picking up the Android version when I get a new phone (soon, soon).

Taxman, you deserve it. Great job, and I hope you make other games for SEGA using this new engine.

  10. So you can just quit during a special stage and come back to it later?

    cool

  11. Oh great, now there's the Steam Holiday Sale until New Year's Eve, so no new game is expected to be released in this period because of competition with games at sale price. It is very likely Sonic CD will make its debut on Steam in 2012...

The wait for Sega to send a download code for winning in that art contest is getting a bit tiresome now. Are they waiting till every version of the game is released? has anyone in Europe been contacted since the winning day? Gonna sign up to steam and probably just buy the PS3 version for now at this rate.

Specific mention of Mr. Whitehead without knowing his tag. :) Frustrating to watch him play, but still fun to watch.

(Sorry if someone already posted this).

I'm surprised that people aren't going crazy over the images of Desert Dazzle. Any Beta content makes me high, so as you can imagine, when I found out about Desert Dazzle, I got extremely excited. It looks like dust hill.

I think that's a misconception- that's not beta content. It's a little fan-made concept. Please correct me if I'm incorrect.

It's interesting, but someone found it quickly and we got a straight answer from the developer telling us pretty much all we needed to know about it almost immediately. Nobody needs to pour over it for weeks to theorize that the bull skull was the guardian of the Master Emerald.

Had a funny thing in Sonic CD. I wanted to go to past and was running and just quarter a second before I went to past, I hit future sign and I went into future instead :D. Had to restart a lvl because I didn't wanna go to future.

That happens occasionally. Works like that in the original, too. Gotta be careful where you teleport...

Beta content includes anything that was in development for a game and didn't make the cut. Tax and Chimpo aren't fans here, they're developers.

Also, who is Blit, and what was their role in this project?
