Huh. That's actually arguably even worse than the original, which let you play all of Metallic Madness, but no earlier (without restarting).
Oh man, I would love to play a finished version of Desert Dazzle. Lovely level art, love the ground tiles.
This is a pretty huge thread, so would you mind explaining what Desert Dazzle is? Have they finally shown off R2?! EDIT: I didn't see that there was a better search function added in. SO they HAVE found R2! Ah too bad that wasn't finished, it looks nice. Is there any Final Fever art to see as well?
So we finally see R2 O.o I wish we could see more- there must have been some level design and art for the future/ past done... how about Final Fever? Is there any art for that?
That's just Taxman's take on R2 based on the popular "It's a Desert" theory. The real R2 was seen recently, but only as a set of sketches in the documentary Sega released. It had aqueducts and rainbow waterfalls, with Robotnik driving some sort of burrow bot. The style of ruins certainly fits the animation seen of it in the ending.
Personally I'd like to see Retro Engine ported to the 3DS, then used to make 3D Classics versions of games like Space Harrier. Taxman, thank you very much for this. I really like how it came out! I do have to ask: who made that amazing Time Attack menu music?
It's a cut from the track "Brand New World" on the Sonic the Hedgehog - Remix album. It's very cleverly cut to skip over all the vocal segments and it fits very well. One of my favorite parts of the modified menu system.
Although they seem to look darker in game. There's a lot of things I want to fine tune after actually looking at it in motion but it can't be helped.
If that ever happens, please base it off of Sonic 3 Complete, with every instance of "& Knuckles" gone.
Only if it has "Lock-On" with this game to create Sonic CD and Knuckles. Hell, play with the idea of Knuckles' being an invasive spotlight stealer and scotch-tape his face over Sonic in the intro.
