    More info:

These CDs appear to have been included with the American MultiMega systems, and came inside normal CD cases.
I was told that this edition is difficult to find, but the game is the same as the normal release.

So if you have the money and a collector instinct, there you go.

I wish the CDX didn't go away so fast. I'd love one of those.

I was about 5 years old when I got my first sega cd.

It was from my uncle. The only game I got was Sonic

cd. Resently my younger brother told me that I got

a cart with the game plus an extra cd that said

sonic cd. I think I put that cd in the sega cd and

some kind of huge BIOS came up. You see I was only 5

and I was messing with it. It had a sonic currsor to

selet stuff. I remember selecting some stuff and it

would make a buzz then say WARNING. Is this what it

was? Can anyone help me here? :?:

You're talking about a RAM cartdrige and the RAM data screen. It lets you backup your current progress in the game, or load some data you have stored previously. :(

I've seen a Sonic 1 cart that said NOT FOR RESALE in red letters. It was at a used game store. Figured it was a demo (which by the way are REALLY easy to find). Never really thought to think it was a pre-packaged game.

I have this copy of Sonic CD too...

A little late with this reply, but I bought a copy like this a few months ago with a weird case like This and the disc holder inside like This. It is just mainly a cardboard covering and it flips open like a book to show the cd holder & CD inside. I know for a fact that this CD goes to this case (It has the exact same copyrights around the CD and on the back of the case.)

*Edit*: Looks like it never included an instruction manual also (No place to put it in case :P ) may have been included seprately though...

"Not for Resale" simply means it was one manufactured not to be sold in retail stores. It has no implications on its release version.

Any Sonic 1 carts that are "Not for Resale" are simply ones that came with the Genesis inside the box as a bonus incentive to buy it.

I've had multiple "Not for Resale" carts. The only ones I remember having is Sonic 1 and for some strange reason, Sonic 2.

Yeah I was kinda confused about it, too, knowing it was the only one I saw/had that said it..
