Is Spazz still uploading episodes? I hope so. Hey so check this out its a tweet from the Japanese VA for Knuckles, Nobutoshi Kanna: https://twitter.com/ennen_7/status/871625398383108096 Appearently Sonic Toon is going to Netflix in Japan. Hmm, its it possible to access Netflix JP through other regions? if so, this would be a great way to get the japanese dub!!
I tried once for the Japanese dub of Rick And Morty, no dice. Workarounds seem to be increasingly difficult.
Yep! However, they may come a little later than usual nowadays because of the weird timeslot. The HD rips are coming along gradually as well.
Would that be referring to this gem I stumbled upon just now? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XC4vIBZkRSk Unexpected to say the least.
Holy shit! I can't believe that Knuckles, and his Boom iteration of all things, summed up my thoughts on feminism so perfectly.
I think it'd have been funnier if they'd dropped the second line and just left them all agog that he'd said something that smart, but eh. =P
Because it was necessary, I cut episodes 236 & 237 into a single, chronological full episode. I think it's okay. http://dai.ly/x5vgkj3
Oh my God. That has to be one of the stupidest lines I've ever heard about feminism in a show. That everyone I've seen on comment sections and forums are praising it shows how puerile the internet is when it comes to anything they perceive as even vaguely critical of feminism. There's a clear reason why people who break gender boundaries are held up as icon-exceptions. In this example, if a female footballer was to become as big a star as a male footballer, that would be a big deal; it would show that society has finally started to accept female footballers as big in their own right as male footballers by popular demand. It would be big because, while female footballers as usually far less popular than male footballers, an exception to the rule suggests that we may be on the path to an equality where male and female footballers are seen as equal in their value. A rough example would be tennis, where, while male starts get paid more, female tennis players are greatly respected. Knuckles' comment that holding up people who break gender boundaries as an exception to a rule, and not trying instead to push it is an immediate new status quo, is completely vacuous. The whole reason why people hold up these individuals as exceptions is because they are exceptions. They are literally exceptions to the rule, you can't instantly claim that there is a new status quo when only one woman has broken out of the gender boundary. As in, you literally can't because it would be factually incorrect. His comment misses the whole point. The goal of holding people up as exceptions is that it will eventually lead to a new status quo where women are on an equal footing to men because the next generation will be inspired to live up to and surpass the icon. In this example, if a female footballer became an exception and became hugely popular, it would encourage young girls to become like her and surpass her. It would encourage young boys and girls who would become the next generation to accept the next big female footballers as potential icons too. That's what would lead to a new status quo where male and female footballers are perceived equally. I'm not annoyed at the show, it was just a dumb, light-hearted goof that's heart was in the right place. As Knuckles says, he's a feminist and is committed to gender equality. But everytime I see the internet lose it's mind and rabidly gush over anything they vaguely perceive as a critique as feminism I just really lose the will to live. No critical thinking whatsoever, complete tribe mentality. It is funny though that the only part of this clip some people didn't like was Knuckles referring to himself as a feminist, we can't have that, egalitarianism is where it's as boiz :v: And before everyone comes at me with how evil feminism is, we've gone over that before and I don't think it would do any good to go over it again. But as this is the Boom thread, I feel justified in critiquing that scene :v:
Hahahaha what glorious propaganda. What's the main age demographic of this show 5 to 12 years old? Imagine if the line went something like this. ....implying this is the exception and not the status quo. What just because I'm a meathead doesn't mean I'm a not a Christian. ....implying this is the exception and not the status quo. What just because I'm a meathead doesn't mean I'm a not a Muslim. ....implying this is the exception and not the status quo. What just because I'm a meathead doesn't mean I'm a not a socialist. ....implying this is the exception and not the status quo. What just because I'm a meathead doesn't mean I'm a not a conservative. Excellent bite size tribal indoctrination for the young.
Now I'm just imagining scenarios where Amy said or did something that would warrant such responses. It's making me chuckle a bit too hard for office work.
