Yeah the official Cartoon Network website definitely isn't trustworthy when it comes to knowing when the show will air on Cartoon Network.
I seem to remember that being around the time Sonic Underground aired when I was in elementary school.
What I'm seeing (and what others are seeing) are a broken site that can't do HTML properly and is calling Megas XLR a "NEW SHOW!" on the side. I think I'll wait until TV guide or the official schedule site that isn't broken says something.
For the record, Cartoon Network, which owns the distribution rights to Tenkai Knights, airs premieres at 6:30AM on Saturdays. Having Sonic Boom premiere at 7AM isn't surprising, in the least. It's upsetting, but not surprising. Cartoon Network in the last couple years has not been kind to acquisitions, especially those to Action shows (even to those they own). EDIT: Also, worth noting, the schedule that was linked above is known as the "Backdoor" schedule, which for whatever reason, Cartoon Network has yet to pull. It's been generally accurate, but the actual layout has been more or less been broken since the sites been updated years later.
Wow, this really is a Saturday morning cartoon, isn't it? I don't really care about the timeframe in which it airs, I was going to be recording it anyway. It's also going to be online not too long after the TV airing if other Cartoon Network shows are indication, so you won't be missing much.
Tenkai Knights was a Budget merch. anime at best I can see why its not really worth a better time slot. But this is Sonic, one of the 2 biggest video game icons of the 90s and world wide known franchise, you'd think (bearing that this timeslot is real) that CN would give this show a better shot then 7AM even for kids this is early. Would SEGA agree to this? This is the first time I've ever heard of this "Backdoor" schedule. can you go into detail?
Unfortunately, the only thing Sega can do, or whoever else in involved, is perhaps try to renegotiate with Cartoon Network or just deal with the slot that's given. Not much can be done on our end. It's basically the schedule page that was originally used by Cartoon Network years ago, that was "removed" and replaced by a more "up to date" schedule. Although I'm not 100% sure why it's called the backdoor schedule, but I assume it's because it's a hidden schedule that tells information on the network weeks in advance. However, reasons we don't know why, the schedule page itself hasn't been completely taken down, probably perhaps due to how the system was built. Probably removing it outright might break the current schedule functionality. Probably for ease, they've not redone the scheduling system. Adult Swim used to also have a backdoor schedule, but they fixed that in recent times.
Interesting. so whats the percentage of this hidden schedule being wrong or changing from its initial posting?
Hmm, then its possible this could be one of those last minute changes. the TV guides around the net just updated a day ago for the 8th and 9th and Sonic Boom isn't in those timeslots and yet theres still a "TO BE ANNOUNCED" slot between the hours of 11am-1pm (PST).
I can't find any specific details about Poland, but I did find a contest from Fluke Networks in 2013: http://www.flukenetworks.com/content/dtx-sweepstakes-rules Poland is listed in the list of eligible countries, though the minimum age is 18. I can't say for certain whether or not this would be a problem, but I assume it should be fine. If in doubt, contact your local government agency to determine the local sweepstakes rules and regulations. The retail value of the prizes, not including shipping: Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (Wii U): $50 USD, $50 CAD, £33 UK, €45 EU Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal (3DS): $50 USD, $50 CAD, £30 UK, €40 EU Also, for legal reasons: No purchase necessary to enter or win.
For non-US entrants, I'm probably going to do a reimbursement system. You buy the game yourself, then provide me with proof of purchase (e.g. photo of receipt and the game running on your Wii U or 3DS), and I'll send you the cost of the game via PayPal or some other money transfer service. For the US, what I did last time was I had the winners add the game to an Amazon shared wish list, which I then used to order and ship the game. This obviously does require an Amazon account.
Okay, is it really that much of a surprise that the series is going to be a Saturday morning series? Saturday morning cartoons are dead on broadcast television, so one of their last refuges is on cable channels. It's true that it could have a better timeslot, but there was no way in hell that it was going to be in.primetime; I'm not presently aware of any video game/card game/comic/toy-based cartoon getting anything close to that sort of timeslot for new episodes. The only one that gets remotely close to it is Transformers: Rescue Bots, and even then that's only the early afternoon in the Central Time Zone. (This excludes anime, of course, since a majority of them are based on a manga, but, you know. ... And the rare exception: Teen Titans Go!) I mean all you have to do is to look at Pac-Man's, that video game adaptation equivalent of Strawberry Shortcake (in that it was the first in a line of cartoons based on properties in a given medium, helping to open the floodgates as it were), place in the ABC schedule at its Fall premiere in '82 to get a hint at what should have been expected. EDIT: Although, looking at the premiere of Pound Puppies a few years later kind of justifies being a little pissed about where Sonic Boom has been stuck. EDIT THE SECOND: For the record, Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) premiered at 9:00 am Eastern in '93, and Sonic X aired at 9:30 am in '03.
Here's some neato-torpedo Japanese trailers. Edit: They won't let me embed them.
I think it only works if you use the shortened URLs on here. http://youtu.be/vadnaohoO14 http://youtu.be/V6oHNdimKbc
That or just remove the s from https. EDIT: Gametrailers have put up a video with new impressions from the game from a recent Nintendo preview event: http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/sgisjx/nintendo-smash--boom--nintendo- Apparently SEGA PR compared it a lot to Jak & Daxter. Also there's going to be an unlockable extreme difficulty mode. Overall though they're not going to pass judgement on Rise of Lyric yet, what they showed at the event seemed to be fine but they're still skeptical because of what they showed at previous events. They also said that what they played of Shattered Crystal was fine.
