I've not had time to watch those live cast readings yet, but I will do at some point, because the trailer for the TV show was awesome! I was really impressed by that. I'm still not too keen on how the games are looking, but at least the show seems like it's going to be great.
So all of the confirmed episode plots so far: Translate This: Tails builds a machine that can translate anything, and it turns out that it can translate what people really mean when they say something as well. An Evil Genius Crashes on the Couch for a Few Weeks: The title is pretty self-explanatory. Eggman has to live with Sonic for a few weeks. TBA: Sonic finds out that Amy wrote a manuscript with characters that are based on Sonic and friends. In other words: she wrote a Sonic fanfic. TBA: Amy and Eggman play some sort of strategy game involving puppies. When Sonic and friends find about this, they all go to a convention about the game. TBA: All of the characters go to various alternate dimensions. TBA: Knuckles runs for mayor. Don't Judge Me: Eggman sues Sonic, Sonic eats a gigantic sandwich.
You heard it here first, Eggman's a brony. Or a "bruppy", I suppose. Does the Pound Puppies fandom have a name? Could...could this mean... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-RiwAP2rqM
A demo of Shattered Crystal will be coming to the eShop on November 4th: http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/38668/sonic-boom-shattered-crystal-demo-coming-to-the-eshop-in-november Also, videos of the Sonic Boom demos from Sonic Boom with direct feed audio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=le-oB-rUih4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymmWByqRYVc
I love how pointless those plots are. No really, this is just what I wanted. SO WHY IS THE WII U GAME SO GRIM DARK! Ugh. Well least I get a little try before I buy.
While I would have prefered Boom more grounded in the games or something arc based akin to the new comics, I can't get mad at the episodic direction if its going to be this silly. It's going to come down to the writing which still doesn't tickle my fancy. Doesn't seem like the game is anywhere near the same tone which is a shame.
The music in the 3DS game is absolutely brilliant. Trust Richard Jacques to deliver, eh? The gameplay isn't so hot though. Stop and go, and stop and go, and stop and go and... ugh. That level was way too long with no sense of flow. I actually think it would be better if it controlled more like a regular Sonic game instead this stiff whatever-the-fuck-it-is style they've come up with instead. As for the Wii U version, it looks as crummy as ever. And can characters not shut up for just five second? I actually checked the running section, and the longest it goes without Sonic or anyone else saying something is a measly six seconds. It's usually much more frequent. That's just annoying and I hope they fix it before release. Spoiler http://youtu.be/Dx3TkdqKAGk
The 3DS game was actually pretty decent from what I played at Gamescom. However, you shouldn't expect it to be a Sonic game cause it really isn't. It's more of a collectathon with Sonic elements.
So I've heard. It definitely looks better than it's Wii U counterpart. But in saying that I shouldn't expect it to be a regular Sonic game, I honestly just think it would be a bit better if it was. I'll wait until I actually get a chance to play it myself though. From the way it sounds it's one of those games that it's very fun to watch footage of, but playing it first hand is another matter.
Not only the pacing is slow, but also the progression is incredibly linear and convoluted. These game designer should earn some kind of prize, because that is a pretty hard thing to accomplish in game designing, to make a progession linear and convoluted at the same time. I'm not a fan of this modular level design, either, with all these self-contained challenges with only a single, linear solution.
Why call something a ViDoc when a documentary is usually a video anyway? :v: Anyway no longer purchasing Shattered Crystal cause that sports tape gag at the end was terrible.
They didnt do what I think they did... *sees ending* Mother fUCKER Chances are shes not writing for the game and only said that because the internet's been all "lel sportstape" but still did you have to ACKNOWLEDGE YOU WERE MAKING A PUN WITH THAT GRIN AND GESTURE AT THE END Sigh how do jokes work again guys
Personally, I thought the sports tape joke was funny. Considering how self-aware she clearly was about the hate on sports tape, it's kind of a trollish joke to make to the Sonic fanbase.
The more developers talk about how important a game was to them during development and how much they put into it, the more likely it is to suck. Especially when they hit as many talking points as possible while not saying anything of substance. I can't wait for this game to come out so we can stop hearing about it already.
