What the hell is wrong with the way the artist draws the girls? Spoiler Also Shadow confirmed for British.
Okay, so I'm either blind or I just have different tastes, because all these redesigns look fine to me. Sure, the artist didn't try anything completely new or oruginal with the wardrobe of the female characters, but it's far from horrendous.
These sketches are pretty cool I must say, even though they're design is totally different I think they totally capture the spirit of the characters !
I don't mind the other redesigns as much (to be honest, they look almost identical to their traditional forms, to me anyway), but please, oh please don't let Knuckles actually look like that. It's just so... inconsistent. If you're gonna radically redesign one guy, do it to the rest, or leave him as close to his traditional form's proportions as the others are. If they radically redid all of them, I wouldn't care that much (I wouldn't like it, but I wouldn't complain). I just want consistency.
I plan to drink the tears of upset Sonic fans, so myself, I'd be amused if Knuckles looked horrifying. >:p
It does make me wonder is ol' Penders is working his 'magic' on this series... I'm still really disappointed by everything we know of this show so far, but I do want to see how it works out. It's just that the direction of franchise in general does appeal at all to me right now, and this will probably be the part I'll least enjoy, even if it is actually a good show.
I feel the same way. It feels like the franchise is going back to how kiddie and toyetic it was ten years ago with Sonic X and Heroes. The only difference is it's coming in a different flavor. Ten years ago, it came in an anime flavor for the Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh crowd. Now, it's coming in this low-budget CG flavor for the Dreamworks and Skylanders crowd. While I am glad Sonic isn't trying to be so dark and serious anymore, there does exist a difference between light-hearted and just plain childish. I actually was enjoying the direction the franchise was heading in with Generations and some of the Sonic Universe comics. Sure, it wasn't the classic era, but they felt like they were made for old fans as well as new ones. Here, they are clearly aiming for just kids now.
Playing the Devil's Advocate here, but what if the silhouettes aren't of Sonic etc. and are of new characters? It's not like they haven't done that before.
Exactly what I'm saying, you never know. Just throwing ideas out there for arguments sake Hmm.. What if it's this guy? Or what if it's a situation like this, alternate characters or something They could be pulling a fast one on us. (pun intended)
The press release says the show centres around Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles. So that's one point. And then the silhouette looks like a muscular Knuckles. You can see his head shape, his dreads and his knuckles. If you're going to hope that it's not Sonic, well, keep dreaming, matey.
Am I gonna have to put this image on every few pages? Meet the Knuckles Tribe, from whom Knuckles is descended from. Notice the similar proportions, realize that there is some manner of precedent in the design and is thus not as inconsistent as people think.
The dude lives on a deserted island, he's not part of a warrior clan. He probably spends all his time masterbating and watching Breaking Bad.
Especially in comparison to the Echidna Tribe, people would do well to remember that Knuckles is only 16 by most accounts. He's obviously going to be shorter than adults of his race. :v:/>
