Mr. Lange, I swear I'm never going to get those songs out of my head, at least for a few days. xD They're that cool. I just hope the remixes keep it that way.
LakeFeperd, this shit is solid, man. No joke. The level designs, the music... can't really say on layouts yet, but aesthetically, it's all very pleasing. Sugar Hill and the green forest one, not the one with the tech trees. These levels look good because the way you've designed them, they look "full". But there's also clarity, it's not a jumbled mess of detail. Can't wait to see where this goes.
Welp, so much for that shield only being gettable for Tails http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ggm28oVPhw
oh man, it's just awesome when people discover things I didnt even know about like this guy oh, btw, there are some more secrets: you can press R to switch between sonic and tails and there is a super box in Act 2 there is also that wierd shield, but I really don't know what I'm going to do with it
I love the gimmicks and if your engine is as good as it looks, this'll be a contender for best of show for SAGE this year (especially with a variety of highly ambitious projects recently falling apart). The only thing I could possibly want to see is more "scripted" events, like the the flying battery fortress bomibing in S&K or Angel Island being set ablaze in Sonic 3. MUCH MUCH praise to your excellent level design. The doodads and flair that you've added to your levels REALLY stands out and makes a HUGE difference. You've crossed the barrier threshold between sub-standard fan games and something really special. I really want to see where this project goes and how it progresses. Also, very nice use of your sprite frames. Keep it up, I have very high expectations for your project.
Oh shit I thought that was totally intentional and really clever design. Using the ramp as a boost to stick to the wall on the way up...oh well. You going to do anything with design like that?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXpr-RammPE I've been doing a lot of progress in ATS but I guess I've just lost the habit of posting everything I do, but I'll probably came up with a new gameplay trailer soon. anyway... enjoy
Is that a giant fucking lizard Badnik in the background? Give this guy a thousand internets. Also Foliage Furnace looks fucking beautiful.
Man!!! The screenshots look awesome!!!! Still haven't tried the game yet. But I know its gonna be good!! You deserve a cookie!!!
My god. I don't even know where to begin here. You've improved so very much from the days of the original BtS. I'm just going to list the things that stood out most. Lava shield into lava. Seriously. Such a simple and awesome gimmick. 'Dem brackgrounds. The icy city peak one had the sun rays and giant friggin' whatever the heck those were. The transition into the Cyan City flying cars. 'Dem level tropes. Dat "not peelout." Dat new hovering animation. Why yes. I did enjoy.
I'm loving this so far! That "star/jester transformation" thing is interesting; how does it work exactly? Is there a time limit, or a boundary that it only works in? Or does it work like a shield? Either way, those animations were quite awesome. Highly anticipating the Demo!
Before the Sequel was a fun little play through. This is getting me really excited though. I can't wait for this to come out, you've improved 10 fold!
Whoa, man. Honestly, after watching this video, I feel like my own project looks incredibly dull in comparison. xD I mean, seriously, you have a massive number of gimmicks and stage events, and it seems like there's always something new and different around each corner. I'm also a fan of how you take some of the traditional Sonic 3 shields and base entire sections of levels to them instead of just making them a little addon (such as how you had a stage in BtS devoted to the water shield). And, once again, the boss fights look incredibly fun. Everything about this game just screams "Play The Living Crap Out Of Me". With level design skills like that, you should seriously be doing this for a living. If you ever decide to dive into the world of indie game development, I'd back you up 100%.
