Finally I've played a Sonic fan-game wich has good physics and decent gameplay. Impressive graphics and everything, yes. But I have some complaints about this game. - I'm not sure if it was my impression, but the underwater effects and the rain effect gave to the game a huge load of lag... Even in full screen. - Some options didn't worked well (because they are disabled?). - The game didn't loaded the second act when I've played as Tails. - Tails looked too heavy when flying. - 'Z' to jump? Dude, follow me: 'D' is much better. I took more than 10 minutes to find wich was the key to jump in this game! - The Sonic's jump/rolling animation looks too slow. It gives a impression of lazyness on the work of it. Even being a demo, I enjoyed it really a lot. Great music selections (they fits really well on everything), fantastic graphics, awesome idea of the game in general. Man... this game has a really good future. I can't wait to see more.
Damnit Overlord I wanted to make a cocaine joke! >_< Anyway nice sprite LakeFeperd, I mix up of Sonic 1 - 3 and CD, interesting sprites I'm diggin. Also I recommend keeping the "sugar" level, maybe not as a whole zone but as part of a 3 act zone with a sweet theme to it, I do recommend on keeping it though, it's so damn awesome, hell I'm getting a sugar rush just thinking about it!!! :specialed:
I would like to say that I found this very interesting. I cant quite put my finger on it, but it feels so refreshing. Great atmosphere. Also, that Sonic 1/3 sprite is pure win.
well, why don't you guys go play the demo, if you haven't played yet, go give it a try the first zone is pretty outdated though A guy named Gungriffon Geona is helping me out with some few graphics for ATS he will probably finish the graphical updates for technology tree really soon the trees and the pillars are Geona's work with some few edits that I've made @JaxTH maybe it's because of the spin dash... that people complained that it is "slow" but this is actually sonic worlds at it's basic @Eduardo Knuckles I tried to make the jumping/rolling animation speed more like sonic 3's animation speed, well... I think I've done it right, are you sure about this? the same for Tails flying ability and for the "not loading the second act": when did you donwloaded it? are you sure you got the demo version that has the warping orb at the end of act 1 glitch fixed? Z to jump? DEAL WITH IT there is a way to change it by pressing ctrl+y btw... @Mr. Mash maybe some pipes or small structures like small cranes or something like that would do the job but the parallax also give a really nice inpressiom of depth
I like "Glucose Glacier". It sounds fresh and new. But, in terms of visual context clues, there's really nothing to denote the piles of white is sugar. The old, rustic bricks and towers in the background really make the level look more like some sort of ruin covered in piles of white sand. The idea is a great one, but you just need to refine the look a bit to really sell the idea that those piles are sugar and not white, Florida sands. I echo the idea of giving the sugar mild pink and blue tints, kind of like what you'd use to make rock candy.
New gameplay trailer is out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnLci6wFI_w hehe btw, this fan game happens right after sonic 2 I just forgot to remove the jet booster on the tornado and also, there is something that is bugging me a bit about sonic 2's ending, I've checked the wiki but I've found no answer: in WFZ, after you beat the boss and get to the cutscene, the tornado is with the jet booster, but in the ending, the jet booster isnt there anymore,(a lot of people think that sonic 3 starts right after sonic 2 because of this) was that intentional or somekind of glitch? oh well, I'll be removing it from the title screen on the next build
I really REALLY love some of the gimmicks you work on. I think I made that clear before. But some of these look brilliant. The water pipe segment, and more interaction via sand pits. Those act tropes looked fantastic too. I can't hear music at the moment due to no speakers so I can't comment on anything anyone did there. Keep up the awesome work though. This looks just as refreshing, if not more so, than BTS. I literally laughed my ass off at the bubble chain. At least we can give new meaning to"hyper" Sonic.
...WOW. I am thoroughly surprised this is coming out so soon after the last one, AND it looks awesome to boot! Although I seem to be noticing alot of cyan-ish blue rock levels...maybe change the color... But other than that this is looking GREAT! Can't wait to see more!
This is phenomenal.. just amazing. The levels, the gimmicks, and of course the remixed music.. I freakin' love it.
This looks fucking amazing! Looks like it'll top BTS by miles! I love how the Bubbles chains have 'derp' eyes.
You go Lake! Man all those sound effect syncs make the trailer even better than it has any right to be!
Are you on board for the music this time around? Just heard the mix, sounded like awesome menu music...maybe not fit for a trailer though.
This looks like it will be a badass followup to BTS (which I was actually thinking about replaying a little bit ago, haha). That Metal Tails looks pretty slick. The only thing that stood out negatively was that when Sonic is jumping up those sand-falls, his ball sprite looks too big compared to everything else. Otherwise, I look forward to booting this thing up when its done. Keep up the good work.
I will be as well; maybe not in time for the SAGE demo but definitely in time for the actual release (as opposed to a delayed Special Edition a la BTS). Right now I'm still working full-tilt on BTS, plus internship/college and working out the kinks in how a bunch of us can collaborate on a soundtrack and make it cohesive (Right now I have a couple of people contributing zones in BTS but there are many other talented people in the community as well)
Holy shit. I just checked this out for the first time and I'm blown away. This is seriously the tits. Keep up the good work!
Wow, where to even begin! First off, outstanding gimmicks. Dang. This looks outstanding and I can't wait to play the final version. The art-style is the most consistent throughout that I've ever seen in a fangame, and that Sonic sprite is gorgeous. I love the sheer creativity that is oozing from this project, and Metal Tails is brilliant. I love that you used the Sonic CD pose for the title screen, but something that feels off to me about it is the amount of blue. I feel like it may benefit from a little bit of color contrast, perhaps in using a red ribbon instead of a blue one; just something to kind of balance out the colors. There's nothing but good I can say about this. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to get my hands on this!
Looks really good. I love how the Bubbles enemies look so derpy while also providing some unique gimmicks that put an interesting twist to those enemies.
