Sonic 3 Sonic fucked Sonic 1 Sonic and thus Sonic ATS Sonic was born. I like it! The sugar level somehow isn't working for me though.
Is it me, or are Sonic's eyes...smaller in the first screenshot? Sugar rush, I'm guessing? Either way, totally awesome.
Sugar Factory Zone? It actually looks more like a Salt Factory in its current state, you would need more confectionery...stuff to look like sugar.
the zone is supposed to be called: "Glycolysis Glacier Zone" or "Glucose Glacier Zone" but I'm still in a doubt about them @Jay T. it's a part of a gimmik, imagine if sonic eats a bit too much of sugar. @Overlord this is actually... BAD, seriously, I'm starting to think I sould stop working in this zone right now and with that gimmik I've mentioned up there, it makes perfect sense... anyway, I guess it's kinda late to turn back and... @RGamer2009 I'll may add something later to make it more like sugar(and not cocaine), but I just cant think of anything right now
Instead of water, how about syrup or honey... something sugar like, it work like water but a slower sink.
Is the (more S3-ish) sprite in the upper-left screenshot now out-of-date? The one in the bottom-left image really doesn't match any of the other three. Maybe that's one of your new sprites and/or this is related to some sprites not having been replaced yet, but I can't tell. And yeah, I'm not a fan of the new sprites (particularly their eyes)... but do what you want, of course.
I thought it was a gimmick. As for the name, correct me if I'm wrong guys, but couldn't sugar also be called Sucrose, Lactose, and Fructose, depending on what type of sugar it is? You could probably also color some of the sugar to look like brown sugar as well, to maybe help make it not give people the idea of cocaine or something... Just some random ideas. EDIT - Apparently there's Maltose too. That's a lot of "-ose" for just sugar...
I'm already considering remaking the looking up sprites as it was already mentioned over at sfghq but don't expect too much of me, I'm no spriter actually, P3DR0 only did the first frame and super sonic, the rest was just my attempt on trying finishing it here is an old verision of the sheet, if someone want to take a look Spoiler there is an option to change the skin btw @Flare I'll probably add some sugar cane in the "tidal tempest good future style" but I do want to leave the water blue and even if I change the colors, I'll probably wouldnt change the physics on it @dsrb I use a different skin when sonic is "going crazy", I just didnt updated it to the new sprite yet
Tint the sugar pink. Seems to be the 'cartoon' colour to indicate sweetness, and won't look so much like cocaine. Also, some clues for context. Thought about barrels and/or crates reading 'SUGAR' in big letters?
So, what exactly is all this sugar meant to be for, anyways? Is this game supposed to take place between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, or sometime before Sonic Colors? I always did wonder where the supplies for Sweet Mountain came from. By the way, are you planning on putting a Super Sonic level in this? Doomsday Zone has to be my absolute favorite level in all the classic games, and I would love another Super Sonic vs. Eggman-Supermech battle. If you do, though, could you please make it easier to access the secret stages? It was far too difficult to get in those end-of-level rings in your first game.
well, I'm trying to give the level I bit more of a factory style please ignore the badnik up there, it's unfinished anyway, looking better now? @Jayextee I would have never though of that, nice idea, I'll see if I can find an nice way to put it in @Kharen yes, it is supposed to take place between sonic 2 and 3 and I'm already considering doing some major changes in the intro cutscene, also there will be caos emeralds and super sonic, that means there will be a final battle much like doomsday.
Perhaps he's trying to do a Sonic CD thing where the names of the zones contain two words that start with the same letter.
All of this is looking cool, but might I suggest that you need to do something to seperate the layers of sugar mounds to create the illusion of depth, so you can tell where Sonic's running? Maybe graduate from very subtle a pink tint to a blue or something.
