Sonic art assets DVD

I know for sure that it's on the front cover of the Sonic the Hedgehog Adventure Game Book 2.

And that artwork is the front cover of the first Adventure Game Book. Also, I don't think it was based on "Oil Ocean" in the book. Although I haven't read any of the books since I was fairly young.

 

Damn most of these are in photoshop formats so I can't view much of 'em. Man I wish there was some archive out there we can upload all these to and view them...

I use that site often. It has a lot of art in very decent sizes.

 

Coïncidentally, Dioxaz told me yesterday that he has no more motivation to continue updating the Sonic Art Archive but he's willing to give it to anyone who wants to do it. Volunteers?

 

I remember expressing interest in the past in merging the Art Archive into the wiki—what does everyone else think of the idea? To my best knowledge, Hivebrain has already started work on such an endeavor; I don't think it'd be a bad idea to go through with it to completion.

I really want this done. The art we have already on the wiki is higher resolution than what the Archive has. And I have a lot of art I would like to add, if we do this as well.

 

Sounds like a very good idea. Especially if the art from this DVD is added too... I love the classic art, it reminds me of the good old days, but I don't plan on downloading any torrents!

 

If it's only the classic art you want it's under 100mb. It's the current Sonic files that are nearly 4gb.

 

I've been to a print shop with a few files. These are printed on A3 paper.

(The Silver artwork is fan made but I liked it)

 

I think that's a good idea. It's a shame that site hasn't been updated in awhile, I still frequent it every now and then just to look at all the lovely classic artwork.

 

Here's that .zip file with the stuff from Blur Studios in it. I should have everything in there. By the way, drx, how on earth did you get that DVD? It looks like something Sega wouldn't want publicly released.

 

It's 3 pieces of official art pasted together.

But yeah. I download this the other day, and it has some interesting stuff on it. I rather enjoyed the 3D model rotations. :]

 

Has anyone got another link to the torrent? Everytime I click it now It leads to nowhere and the fileden page won't load.

 

It seems to have been working for me earlier today (I finally got Internet going at my new apartment; the timing for all this was horrible for me), but it's jumping around randomly. I got back from work and it told me it had about 7 hours to go. That was three hours ago, and now it says 23. I guess everyone else stopped seeding?

Then again, I hardly ever download torrents because they never work properly for some reason. I'm not 100% sure how it all works. Now the numbers are laid out "X(space)XX:XX:XX". Search me.

 

I still have both the contents and torrent in place, but I'm not seeding at the moment. My brother is seeding Ubuntu 9.10. I could probably seed again after he gets enough share ratio on that.

 

Downloading now, will seed all next month.
