Anyone find it a little odd that the people who seem to be winning this contest also are the ones who are currently detesting this title in someway or another?

Although, I could be wrong, hell, I've been gone for basically 3 months.

 

I don't dislike the game as I've only saw a few screenshots :P

 

It's stupid to really smash the game on its own merits unless you're really wary about the whole key concept of the game. However, it could wind up being fun. Ultimately, we'll need a video longer than... the 2-3 seconds that Nintendo reel was?

We'll see that by week's end, thanks to TGS. The game is supposed to be shown off there along with Unleashed.

 

"Sonic with a sword" could lead to some pretty cool gameplay, but considering that this is being made by the same team s Secret Rings... I remain doubtful.

 

We can only hope they learned from their mistakes. I just got Secret Rings this weekend, and I was divided about evenly between spots where it was really, insanely fun (any of the more straightforward levels, especially the longer ones) and spots where it was really frustrating (any of the more convoluted missions, the earlier levels before you start getting good skills, and anywhere that requires an obscene amount of waggle—final boss, I'm looking at you). So, in other words, no "skills" unless they're restricted to combat abilities, no convoluted missions (in fact, I'd be pretty happy with no missions at all), and longer levels (I'm not getting my hopes up about less waggle when they've basically out-and-out said that combat is going to be based entirely on swinging the remote about, between the swordfighting and the Homing Attack, which I'm assuming will work the same as in Secret Rings considering it even works that way in Unleashed according to Nintendo Power).

 

I wonder how the sword fighting would work. Soul Calibur Legends had done a great job on that; I would love to see this game's swordfighting to be similar.

EDIT: Wait, I just realized what could make this game suck signifigantly less. I know it will probably be good, so the only thing that could make it better...



...is the Holy Handgrenade. Which will be most ass-uredly in the game.

No, Robot Chicken. "Sir Mix-A-Lot" sings about making the square table round -- it's a Baby Got Back parody. I thought it was funny.

 

Yup. It's entitled "Table Be Round". When I saw it I thought to myself, "Why do I have the feeling this has something to do with Sonic and the Black Knight?"

they just showed Sonic & the black knight... it looks like a sequel to Sonic & the secret rings. Also, Crush 40 is doing the sound track.

I might be interpreting what I'm seeing in the trailer incorrectly, but it looks a lot like secret rings. I'm going to be waiting for actual gameplay.

Don't we have some info on the game? Isn't it on-rails like S&TSR except you control with the analog stick? Or am I quoting rumors from long ago?

 

On-rails is a guess, but analog control is certain.
