I thought I might not, but I just unlocked AGES last night, and I'm really glad I took the time to do it. I especially get a kick out of the Dreamcast menu sound effects when you're in water mode. For anyone without the Wii U version, does that mode also still make VMU beeps? I noticed even in 2-player mode when I didn't have the gamepad, the VMU beeps would still only come out of the controller speaker, which is pretty cute and clever.

I'm adoring this game. The first ASR was fun, but it always just made me feel like I'd be having more fun playing Mario Kart. ASRT doesn't have this issue; it stands on its own, and is IMO better than any Mario Kart.

 

Not a shocker. Saturn era English music was a bit... "interesting."

Got this on Boxing Day, hit the credits today. Some of the course design in this game is just wonderful. The Panzer Dragoon and After Burner ring races are just excellent, and I'm actually a big fan of Race of AGES. Only two things I don't like about the game, really: the reasonably frequent crashes and the hateful Twister weapon. Control-reversing items are possibly the worst thing in gaming.

Actually, I adore the Saturn era's musical style. I'm just saying others find it rather idiotic.

They are incredibly wrong, but that's their opinion.

 

Sonic R is a fantastic game.

 

Seeing as I got a Wii U for Christmas, I'll probably just get it on that.

Lol I was getting screwed over in an online race the other day (for some reason I hit people twice with my car and I just was thrown back and got turned around). Obviously I was screwed, however I decided to even the playing field by using that early lap finish on the JSRF level from the first game. Into first I go.

 

I feel like by the time the PC version comes out, everyone will have stopped caring and there'll be nobody to play with. :\
EDIT: As I say this, I look up and am reminded that the PC version seems to be quite popular on the polls. Hopefully they haven't changed their minds.
