Sonic Advance Stuffs

    I know this would be as easy as opening Sonic Advance in Tile Layer Pro. However, I'm looking for the intereseting stuff in the rom, such as level layouts and mappings. By knowing where the art is, I'll obviously know that I shouldn't be looking there.

    Anywho, since I made this list, I'll release it. All of the art is uncompressed. While the list is incomplete, it's more than enough information to create a decent art hack. Also, I think I may have found an unused goodie or two, such as gameplay styled chao sprites. The stuff I think is unused has been highlited in red.

    I'll stress, this list is nowhere near complete. These locations are from a US Sonic Advance rom, so if you're using a japanese/euro rom, the locations might not match. All locations found by ThunderSpeed... though just about anyone could've found 'em. =P
    Also, due to not knowing where the mappings/collision for the levels are, level art edits have to be kept to the basic shape of the current art.

    As you may have guessed, I'm on a mission for Sonic Advance stuffs. So, my current project, StH:DX, will be less of a priority until I've found what I'm looking for or give up. Don't worry, it's still going to be continued.

    Good stuff, even though I'll likely never use it. =P And, if you plan on making a hack of the game, could you try to make Egg Rocket and Chaos Angel two separate levels? In ERZ1, you could make it like the beginning of regular lvel, where you must find and board the ship, and ERZ2 would be where it's flying through the atmosphere. I always hated the way they merged those two levels into one.

    That would probably be a far far time away, as I'm not even sure if people have bothered to scratch the surface of this game. If they have, I've wasted my time with that art list then. =P

    And yes, I'll eventually make a (decent) hack.

    Just a heads-up here; the 'unused' Chao graphics you've listed might well be from the 'Chao-hunt' Multi-pak Multiplayer mode. Could be wrong, though, since I've not had a chance to play any of the Multi-Pak modes, but that's the only instance I know of where Chao appear in the regular gameplay world.

    Well, the backgrounds are just a repeat of Neo Green Hill Zone's, and are the backgrounds for some unused levels, that are only accessable through a gameshark. I forgot what they were called, but it was something like "Chao Forest" or something. (unless those are multiplayer as well.)

    EDIT: I'll just put this here, rather than make a new topic. Now, this screen is just for shits and giggles, but what do you think about this? I know he's a bit fat, but I did some bad scaling. =P

    Well, I've scrapped that sprite, as I'm going to fix my scaling. If it ends up looking worse, I can just redraw it.

    I've found out a lot of interesting stuff regarding Neo Green Hill Act 1. Stuff I've been looking for: Level Layout, 128x128 mappings, collision... However, I won't release the locations just yet, as my notes are extremely messy and will end up confusing most people. I'll fix it up and make a release within a few days.

    Although, I still haven't found object positions...

    There's one thing in red, but I think that may have been debunked.

    Anyways, check my first post within a few minutes, as I'll release my notes. I won't do much with them and I've found out some stuff I wanted to know. Besides, I'm going to move on to other hacking.
