Hmmm. Looks pretty cool, must better then Ep 1. It reminds me a lot of DCKR with the going in and out of the background. I want to see more, but this looks promising.
Right after watching the trailer about twenty times, I can tell that is is not the improvement Sega PR has been making out. Because the clips are so quick it throws you off from noticing first of all the automatic play from all the springs and boosters. I don't even have to guess what the level designs are going to be like, the fact there are so many springs and boosters in the trailer just tells me this is exactly Episode 1 all over again. Episode 2 is nothing more that springs, boosters and over used gimmicks every five seconds with a bubbles combo at the end of every level. Face it guys, Sonic in the hands of Iizuka and Dimps are never going to produce what the classics were all about.
Also is it just me or does Sonic act really derpy whenever he hits any of the springs? It's like they're using old animation files, but in a different animation handling system, where there's a longer time taken for everything to move into place.
I'm still laughing from the Super-Sonic 69 Attack to Metal. LOL Aside from that, it looks good. Also got a peek at my favorite Badnik from this Episode, Steelion!
I've seen the trailer just now & it looks pretty cool, especially the co-op gameplay. It's kinda hard to tell if the physics were improved though. Oh, and yes, Homing Attack and Dash Panels are in the game.
I'm not expecting this to even touch the classics, but if they fix the way inertia works and other such physics problems and make fun, albeit simple and sometimes automated level-design I'll be pretty content with the final product. No, not "Sonic 4 as I always imagined it", but a cool homage to the classics that doesn't quite get everything right, but is fun by itself for a quick run.
That trailer was pretty fun, it looks worth a shot, loads better than episode one There is an echo of Sonic Rush at the 24second mark, where sonic is just running through walls, (Knuckles style) not spinning or boosting, Dimps must have forgotten he can't do that without spinning or boosting haha But all in all, looks way better than the first gameplay trailer of episode 1, I think I'll actually drop money in this one XD
I honestly hope the Dash Panels aren't all over the levels like in Episode I. That was friggin' stupid. Also, "204 User(s) are reading this topic". Daaaaaaaaamn!
One thing I've noticed from Sega lately, they never mention PC versions until very close to release. (Or even later as it was with SCD and S4EP1)
Not a bad trailer; from a few of the clips I can tell that the physics were improved to a degree, but certain things, like Sonic's jumping, still look a bit awkward. I am also delighted to see that uncurling is gone. However, moments like where Sonic and Tails automatically change to a run when coming from under water kind of bother me a little. One thing to note, is the fact that Tails occasionally is running vastly ahead of Sonic (implying that having Tails as lead may be an option for 1 player). the Bear Badnik also looks like it has certain attack spots; this may give it some sort of strategy of sorts.
Was right about everything except it was more than 10 seconds of gameplay. Looks different -- graphics are kinda weird IMO, but I can get use to them perhaps. Looks better than Episode 1. I'm curious on how enjoyable the co-op stuff is, and how it works. For example, if I'm playing with a friend, what is the process of us spindashing together. Side-note to SEGA: Enough to make me curious enough to purchase it. You win my money, for now.
After seeing that trailer, all I can say is that I can't wait to not play this. Episode 1 all over again.
Custom Soundtrack a la Sonic Generations? Perhaps different mixes of said Zone and extras? Ohhh, what am I saying? Would be a neat feature, but HIGHLY doubt it would happen.
