Great to hear that! I'll be on my way to update the file format definitions and update the edition tools, then.
So I gotta ask... Has anybody tried messing around with the iOS/Android release of S4E2, I.e. Replacing the music, model-swapping Sonic & Tails, etc.?
Nope, wait, I hear it now. I was wearing headphones when it starting playing. At high volume. Son of a bitch.
EDIT: Guys next time give a warning if you're going to embed music like that. That didn't half boom through my house, luckily it hasn't woken anyone up.
People get suspended for less... Srsly I had to click 'mute' on the sound mixer. That was very annoying.
I managed to get around to uploading a video for the iOS version: The files are much like the PC version, except the only thing different is the music and sound files, which happen to be AWB, ACB, and ACF. Someone will have to explain those to me. :v:
I don't hear anything at all. Normally I do when this stuff happens, but not this time. Guess I'm lucky. XP I also downloaded Sonic 4 Episode 2 on my XBox, so far, not a bad game, but I'm kind of stuck on White Park Act 3. And for some reason, I'm really liking the special stage music. Oh, and I also like the reactions Sonic & Tails do if they didn't get all the rings (speaking of that, I missed the 3rd Chaos Emerald by ONE freaking ring! >.> I got it afterwards though.) Maybe AdBlock is blocking it? I dunno.
So I sent a message to Ken balough: So he acts if jackfuste's patch is the same shit as we got... heh.
Well, I've pretty much done everything on the iOS version save for a few achievements. Game was pretty fun, though I'll probably dip into the console version for better graphics and framerate. The level design, for the most part, was really good. Tons of paths and quite a few little goodies scattered about. The Tornado stages are complete bullshit though- trying to keep the plane level with the crappy virtual analog is tough enough, never mind the stupidly tiny window between seeing the yellow eggman blocks and getting crushed by them. I imagine that these are more tolerable on a controller. The special stages are also probably easier with analog controls, but they were still very manageable. I've heard a few people rage out over the 7th, but it really isn't bad at all once you figure out the best approach (I ended up with the required ring amount before the final part even started). The tag moves were implemented quite well. Flight in particular has saved my ass quite a few times, and the rolling move can be fun to maintain. So yeah, fairly pleased with how this turned out. Rolling still sucks though- I have no idea what Dimps' deal is here.
Did you show him pictures of it? Like side by side comparisons of 720p upscaled and native 1080p I mean. It sounds like he really doesn't have the foggiest clue of what he's talking about or what people mean. Nobody's asking for things like textures to be "uprezed" as he says, just have the game run at a higher resolution. It's like he needs to have the jagged edges pointed out to him.
Ok, so either he's stupid or sticking to his guns cause it's his job. It's most likely the latter, cause he can't really be expected to say "Well, there's absolutely no reason the game only runs at 720p when it should be allowed to run much higher. And that quickly made patch by a fan looks better.".
