Spoiler Sonic 4 Episode 2's is what'll likely be considered the canon Death Egg Mk.II, considering Sonic the Fighters is a silly spinoff and a somewhat obscure one at that... also I'm pretty sure Sonic the Fighters is impossible to reconcile with canon anyway considering it has eight Chaos Emeralds. EDIT: Goddamnit, ninja'd.
There are still many 30 seconds loops: Sylvania Castle Act 3 28 seconds, White Park Act 3 24 seconds, Oil Desert Act 1 37 seconds, Sky Fortress Act 1 27 seconds, Eggman Theme 18 seconds, Metal Sonic Theme 39 seconds... It's really the music that enhanced not their duration only :P
Take a closer listen several portions do sound familiar but the major loops happen well after that 30 second mark. It's difficult to find initially due to the way the songs are constructed (a "more of the same" style....Sky Fortress Act 1 is the worst offender of this).
Your point? Flying battery is short as hell too. I don't see how duration matters much in a game where you're trying to get through the level as fast as possible and probably won't hear it loop more than twice in the actual act.
Nope, I have the AAX files. It has the loop data I know what I'm talking about... Z2A3 AAX only has 28 seconds, and the loop is a bit earlier than the end. I was pretty spot on the loop data. I like the songs too, but the songs are still short.

The day Sally Acorn starts chasing after Sonic instead of Amy, I'll turn my back on the series. She's just the lesser of two evils, ya know? :v:
Sally Acorn wouldn't chase Sonic. She'd sit her behind right down and expect Sonic to be there for her. She'd also sneer at Amy out of the corner of her eye, scoff at Blaze, and cry whenever somebody mentions Elise. Sally should definitely be in the main series.
Keep SATAM characters out of my Sonic games. They wouldn't work well for a Sonic game, and would just slow him down.

No you're wrong. Scourge is just what the main games need to spice things up. That, and a few more Chaos Emeralds.
I don't want a multi-verse in the games; it would make the storyline way too convoluted than it should be. EDIT: Oh, you weren't serious. Sarcasm failure on my part.
Now THAT would be an interesting idea. Now you have my hopes up. But no. 9/10 chance it's Knuckles. After all Spoiler The Death Egg mk2 doesn't really blow up. It just sits there, floating powerless. Back to angel island you go, because Eggman's gonna steal that Master Emerald once more.
Knuckles in Episode 3 would be brilliant. I liked him better when he was a silent antagonist/anti-hero anyway. Now he's a a stupid but well meaning good guy who occasionally makes half-assed one-liners to make it look like he's still rivals with Sonic. Of course, there are other story options to explain him being a rival towards Sonic besides "OH NOEZ EGMEN TRICKED HIM AGAIN. OH KOOCKLES, U SO GULABLE, U SILLY BOI."
