High-Resolution Logo from SEGA's flicker Rules from previous thread applies. You know what they are and it is shark week so hold on to your butts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJaRAUHWZig Ken Balough Interview (Thanks to 1stKirby for the heads up) Sega Blog Post on December 30th 2011 "New" Physics Engine "New" Graphics Engine Metal Sonic confirmed (duh) Tails confirmed Confirmed Platforms: PS3, 360, Android, Windows 7 Mobile, iOS Devices COMING TO A WHATEVER NEAR YOU IN 2012!
I'll repeat what I said before. The lack of actual gameplay footage is stupid, though I expected it. And I'm being stupid and letting my hopes get up again for new physics and graphics engine. Just to squash any false hopes... Taxman already told us that the Retro Engine WON'T be used, correct?
Kirby works. Also, here is the Trailer without the interview since Gamespot's video player is lame: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KhMsQij8H0 This has nothing to do with views, I swear!
I laughed when I watched the teaser trailer because, well, it was EXACTLY what I expected the trailer to be. And also, no Wii version = more content?
At 0:17... possible team-based attacks? It does say "With All New Surprises" right before. Maybe they're taking a Sonic Advance 3 influence, which I wouldn't be opposed to.
Well, can't say I expected anything more out of this teaser, but it's still disappointing no gameplay was shown. I'm really interested in the new physics though. I enjoyed Episode 1, but as long as they don't butcher the physics even more, a new physics engine has me interested. And the lack of a Wii version makes me glad I got my PS3 last year. Hopefully this will be a longer game due to it.
I thought they confirmed that each episode would include 4 Zones, 3 Acts, and a Boss act for each Zone.
Tails, new physics engine, new graphics engine along with the new music soundfront(?) as well? This will be interresting, oh yes. I'll be waiting + - im patiently for footage. Please don't keep us hanging for 4 months now, you hear, Ken?
If they're willing to overhaul physics and graphics, I'd like to believe they'd be willing to alter the game length as well. From what we've heard from Iizuka and just from this announcement it sounds like the plan has changed a bit. If they kept it the same, can't say I wouldn't expect it, though, however disappointing as it may be.
Ah man, a new graphics engine? I hope that doesn't damage any hopes for a 'linking' of the eps, sonic 3&k style. Lookin' good. also I lol'd at the beard, I wonder what crazy looks he got at work with that.
I won't be giving Sega any credit until I see this thing in motion. Episode 1 was a horrible game imo, and they promised a much better product. Will save my judgement for now.
Oh joy. I wonder how the game will explain the absence of Tails in episode 1. >_> I really hope this will be a lot better than the last episodic game. Tails, new graphics and physics engine, and Sonic Generations gives me hope.
More PR crap, until a decent trailler, the game doesn't exist. Still the lack of wii it's good news, can mean that they aren't limited to it.
Is he serious about the new graphics engine? Did the graphics in E1 have something to do with loading times and the size of the game? IIRC there was something along those lines a few people got up in arms about because of how lazily they were handled. There was nothing about them that meant they had to look bad, it was the way they were handled with poorly looped, JPEG-quality back/foregrounds and randomly cel-shaded models with really harsh lighting.
Why couldn't they have showed some footage? Just a teensy tiny bit of footage? The episode 1 trailers were pure excrement so I have no idea why they're continuing with this approach. I'll echo the notion that this game pretty much doesn't exist to me until there's footage. Christ, this is bringing up some dumb memories...
So much for an announcement of an announcement of said announcement. Well hopefully what he is saying is true then we have something to look forward to. But I'm not getting my hopes up.
No more uncurling is a step in the right direction, at least? :v: But yeah, that trailer is exactly what everyone expected. Can almost set your watch by it. I really hope that at least half of what he's saying is true though. I want to like Sonic 4, I really do, but they make it so damn difficult.
Damn not even 3 seconds of gameplay or a logo. I am disapoint. HOWEVER. New graphics and physics fixes. Apparently he doesn't uncurl and he doesn't stick to walls anymore at the very least. And they got rid of the fucking Wii since that virus for digital games was holding it back for everything else. I am eager to see more. Oh and Tails and Metal Sonic are always cool. If this game had Knuckles in it it'd be my ideal Sonic character cast (maybe Amy)
