I'd actually like to see enough content to justify the price.

    This this this this this!

I can't stand seeing "I hope they remake Sonic 2 stages for Episode 2!" for multiple reasons (not that it's happened here, and I'm not targeting Kazeblade as he was referring to Special Stages). Aside from the obvious fact that Sonic 2 was represented in E1 by both Mad Gear and the Final boss, we don't need more remakes. If I want to play Hill Top Zone, I'll go play Hill Top Zone. If I want to play Wing Fortress, I'll play Wing Fortress. I'd be absolutely fine with straight HD remakes/updates if it was done in a separate title, but blatantly doing this again with Episode 2 would be a surefire way to piss me off. Physics don't bother me much, I got over the music, but plainly slapping a new layer of paint on an old fence isn't going to cut it for me this time. (Not that I foresee this trend continuing, just throwing it out.)

Now, Lost Labyrinth/Mad Gear were better ways of doing things than Splash Hill/Casino Street. LL/MG arguably looked better than the originals (read: arguably), had enough to make them look different, and honestly should have been the route as far as the remake/update trend went in E1. I have no issues with them using level cliches (Green Hill and Angel Island are of a similar cliche, but are wildly different), as even the classics did that, but man. This is one thing that would probably turn me off from future episodes until they became dirt cheap through a sale.

Wild rant over nothing, but it's been building up inside me for a while. :argh: One of the biggest reasons I keep playing Sonic games is to see what different levels they can come up with, and usually the 2D games inspire the best. From the classics to a few stages in the Advance games...even the Rush games had some interesting looking levels. Unleashed/Colors were particularly interesting to me, even if the former largely consisted of places heavily inspired by the real world, it still felt surreal to someone like me. I'm hoping Dimps can knock it out of the park in future installments.

Phew. Now back to waiting on news, even though it apparently won't be for a while.

Not where I want to be.
Sonic (?): Coming summer of 2055...?
There's really nothing else to say about hopes for Episode 2, besides speculation and hopes for stage themes. Which would eventually stagnate too...

Then you just leave the topic alone until there's something actually to talk about? =P

One thing that I was disappointed with in Episode 1 that I'd like to see addressed in Episode 2 is that the stages were all 2D images instead of real geometry. After seeing that Mushroom Hill video a while back, I believe that it would get rid of some of the tackiness that covered the game, specifically in Splash Hill. 3D models with 2D levels and backgrounds may work well in some cases, but the way Dimps went about it here really showed how cheap of a game this was.

Absolutely. Nowadays the art should be hand drawn or 3D, not pre-rendered and lifeless. What especially gets me is that the collapsing cliffs in SHZ are 3D and for the brief moment that they appear they look better than the rest of the level.

I enjoyed the game. Spent my whole Thanksgiving break back home playing it.

Of course I did notice some of the flaws within the game. It was very quick, and I guess it was good for nostalgia, but I feel that if they had taken it a bit more seriously they could've added some new things (not like the lock-on), maybe made gameplay a little more difficult.

You saw the advancements from one, to two, to three, but as far as I'm concerned they took a step back with the new one, back to square one.

In response to the shortness of the game, I guess since it's Episode 1 it's only a fraction of the story, and if they expand on that in Episode 2, then I really won't have much to complain about.

Still, in short, I enjoyed the game. I thought it was a nice re-introduction to 2D platforming and now Sonic Team knows what to refine. Whether they actually refine the flaws is an entirely different story.

This game was spectacular as I knew it would be in the first place. I can't wait for the next one! At any rate, I still enjoy playing it, well any chance I get to and still do not own a 360 yet. Working on it!

Episode II - We're ready for you! :v:

I might actually be purchasing this soon, I just hooked my 360 up to the HDTV and Sonic 4 looks glorious on it, plus the demo is so much more fun to play now that I can actually see what's in front of me. I'm probably going to pick up Stacking as well, that looks brilliant.

Thing is, I played and beat it at my friend's house and enjoyed it. I don't know if it'd be worth paying the money for again though, how many times would I want to play it again?

I played it quite alot at one point, but honestly after beating it about three times, I never bothered to touch it ever again. I got it on the day of release and I haven't played it since early December.

Of course, that's comparing to the classics, which I still play every other day. :v:

    Working on my art!
Surprisingly I still play this game a good amount. I don't know there's just something I like about it. I think on the Ipod version I have like 450 lives and on the PS3 I have something like 7 or 8 hundred.

I was playing it earlier, actually. I've no idea why. :P

Also, about the Wiki - will music downloads be available anytime soon? I'm still using the recordings from the leak and I'm ready to upgrade.

I've always found that Sonic 4 has the same replay value that Sonic 1, 2 and 3 & K has. It's just one of those games that you can simply sit down and just pass the time regardless of your opinion about it.

Sonic 4 is pretty easy and quick to pick-up-and-play, which is something they shouldn't remove for Episode II (better yet; add a no-save feature, I'd love that!), so because of that, sometimes I feel very compelled to play it whenever I'm bored.

But then as I get through it I remember how frustrating the game is to me, because it could be so much more with so much less shit. And then I turn it off somewhere on Casino Street or Lost Labyrinth
