At this point, there is no chance of you possibly outdoing yourself next year. This is truly amazing.

Now all we need is to have the time attack thing ported to Sonic 1, like the Mega Play version. I'll do that when I have time =P

 

Erm.. their's something up with the download link. It's just downloading some wierd file. :x

 

Rename to whatever.rar and extract.

Also this fails on Generator and Genesis Plus; I had to use Kega Fusion (all OS X 10.5 Intel btw). On Generator and Genesis Plus I get some weird Blue Sphere that crashes the game when you hit start.

 

Well shit...the download just keeps fizzling out on me...furthest I got was 1.2/2.0 MB

 

I found this quite interesting, especially with the ranking system. I did get to try too much of it out, as I haven't played a whole lot of Sonic 3k, so I'm not very good at it. Well anyway keep up the good work, I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

This is yet another impressive hack from you. I haven't got through all the challenges, but I intend to soon.

 

I had a ton of fun playing this hacking contest submission! The challenges are very unique and fun to play through, the new features you've added are very impressive, and to top it all off, it's a Sonic 3 & Knuckles hack! It's a pretty neat experience going through the levels with a different take on things and an alternative goal in mind, and it really adds to the replay value of things.

One challenge in particular that really had my balls in a vicegrip was the gravitation challenge—every time you jump, the gravity of the player changes, and getting a ring awkwardly freezes the game and puts your internal pacing completely out of whack. I got reasonably far through that one, I think, but it really messed with me. Really imaginitive stuff!

All in all, this is fantastic! I always admired your very creative take on Sonic hacks; it's extremely refreshing. Great work!

 

Wait, that was a bug? I thought it was intentional! It added a whole new degree of challenge to that particular theme, if you ask me; putting off your natural flow is a simple but effective way of making the player think differently about how they move, and it did a fairly good job of it.

You caught me, though—I was adding my impressions largely based on when I played the submission for the hacking contest. I guess I'll have to try the new one out now to curb my own laziness. =P

Hopeful for a Sonic 1 - S3&K boss run hack.

 

I am on a Mac. Both Genesis Plus and Generator don't work. My computer is too old "by a smidge of course" that I can run the Mac version of Fusion. SRAM doesn't work for those two emulators anyway, so I should have seen this one coming.
