Nice work, if possible for HCZ try and give knuckles a sepeate layout to sonic. You know when he can only break through certain walls to his own layout.

now that video showed a fair bit of potential. Obviously Ice Cap and Launch Base aren't complete, after watching it in motion I'm not sure how fond I am of the Launch Base palette, along with CNZ's 'bright' palette in the BG. It's just that large yellow haze in the middle of it. The UW palette looks great though, as well as the 'dark' palette. As for Mushroom Hill Zone, it does look somewhat overkill with the pits, but at the same time, quite fun :3 Can't wait to play it.
As for the special stage, nice to see a new stage, but it's quite bland. Add some more bumpers, make some kind of path, maybe add some of those yellow spheres and put some more red spheres in.
It's a great video all-around though, excellent work.
I like what I see. The new music is good, but my personal favourite is MGZ 1. I didn't expected to be good at first but now I think I even like it more than the original. The level itself also looks great (Marble Garden). CNZ's palettes are quite nice especially the first one. Can't say anything about ICZ and LBZ, except I don't really like the LBZ palette. MHZ's palette is awesome and I actually really like the bottomless pit because it kinda makes the zone harder as it should be.
If this is the first special stage then it shouldn't be that complicated. The AIZ music fits very well in the special stage to my surprise but does that mean that Angel Island Zone will use different music or it'll be the same?
I would also like to see Hydrocity and Sandopolis. Good job!
I agree completely, however without some kind of boxing in, or path making (even if the path is 10 spheres wide) then it's incredibly easy to get lost and confused within the special stages. I know there was one Super emerald stage in th original S3K that I could get lost in for hours when I was younger, and still gets me from time to time these days, and that was with a fair amount of bumper usage.
I want this hack like you wouldn't believe. A few complaints, though: MGZ's palette really isn't doing it for me. It's still too similar to the original, and even assuming you plan on changing the background palette, the brown in the foreground isn't really adding much. LBZ's palette could work, but try making the foreground a bit more vibrant, it looks dull as hell right now. MHZ is kind of ugly. Oh, and AIZ's music really isn't working for the special stage, but I'll let that slide if you promise to use the original tune elsewhere to compensate. Everything else is just dandy.
Yeah that AIZ 2 music in the special stage is only temporary, it was just to show you the music edit. I will put each music track back where it belongs.
It is really fantastic to finally see a promising hack of Sonic 3 & Knuckles hit the scene! The layouts are very solid and look enjoyable (though they could use more objects), the palettes are pleasing to the eye and work well upon the original color schemes, giving off the impression of brand new levels. I also love the mish-mashing you've done with various pieces of music—Marble Garden sounds surpiringly well with Angel Island's Act 2 percussion line, and I was amazed at how totally different AIZ2's music felt with Act 1's percussion. Really creative stuff, there!
All in all, this is looking great! Eagerly awaiting the final release.
Thanks Tweaker. more objects will come over time. I am still deciding what objects to put and where. Soon these levels will have plenty of objects to keep you playing the game. wait till you see the start of FBZ act 2 and you'll see what I mean.
Yeah, there's some interesting stuff going on in this hack, and I speak as someone who's seen a little behind closed doors. Looking forward to more stuff!
Yes I appreciate you trying the hack out Overlord. It has certainly helped me out in my level layouts.
That Ice Cap remix is wonderful.
Wow, mate! Those pallettes and layouts are beautiful. The music edits too. Mushroom Hill music reminds me to Aquatic Relix act 2 from Sonic Pocket Adventure.

That is a really good palette (Though it could maybe be a bit darker, as it is Robotnik's base). How about a shot of the exterior as well?

That video was amazing. The layouts look like great fun and will hopefully be that way in the final product. I do have one tiny pet peeve, however: you might want to make the bubble shield a bit more hidden in CNZ Act 2 when you go to the water. It kinda cheapens the feeling of fear when you go into water in Sonic games. But hey, it's your hack. :P
As before when you shew me, this looks good. How is the ouside looking?.

I just watched the video you posted. Incredibly impressive! I fell in love with the music for Carnival Night Zone and Marble Garden, and the palette for the latter was an awesome fresh touch. Using a modified Angel Island BGM for the special stage was unexpected, and surprisingly fitting! For your layouts, Without actually playing them, I wouldn't like to comment, but so far, this looks absolutely brilliant. I eagerly await a playable version
