Sonic 3 and Knuckles, a new lease of life

    Hi guys

    As you may well know, I have been working on the hack, Sonic Redemption. But I have also been working on a S3K hack. I plan to have completely new levels, pallettes etc. I have compiled a montage of screenshots of the hack. Enjoy.

    Pallette, layout and objects edited for act 1.

    Carnival Night
    Pallette, layout and objects edited for act 1.

    Ice Cap
    Ski Slope layout edited.

    Launch Base
    Pallette, and layout in production.

    Mushroom Hill
    Pallette edited.

    Flying Battery
    Pallette edited.

    Sandopolis
    Pallette edited.

    Hidden Palace
    Layout and objects edited.

    Death Egg
    Pallette edited.

    Also all the special stages have been changed.
    Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

    You're making an epic Sonic 1 hack and you're making a Sonic 3 and Knuckles hack. The fact that it's an S3K hack is epic alone, I've only seen about 3 of those before, and none of them have ever been finished.

    Ever consider altering Angel Island Act 2 so it doesn't look like it got burned? I know that's harder but Angel Island Act 1 is much more epic without the fire

    I must say, the Sandopolis pallette is gorgeous. The Mushroom Hill Zone pallette is also quite nice, along with the interior Death Egg. I hope this project is completed sometime, it looks good so far :)

    Good job UtopiaUK, now if you could edit the backgrounds, this hack would be among the best. Not too many S3K ones that are nothing more then Sprite hacks of Sonic.

    All the palettes look exactly like previous S3K hacks. :P Not that im complaining, they look nice.

    And that's a shame. S3&K Master Edition is one of the hardest hacks I have ever played.

    Lava Reef hasn't been quite edited yet, same for Sky Sanctuary.

    Oh yes, for the beta, AIZ HCZ MGZ CNZ ICZ LBZ and HPZ will have their pallettes layouts and objects changed. The art is staying original

    The fact that it was a Sonic 3 and Knuckles hack was enough to yank me in.

    The screenshots kept me pulled in.

There is no Sonic 3 disassembly that I know of.

    AIZ2 is shit because it just got burninated. Your island would look like shit if it got burninated too. However, I want to see what happens with Flying Battery and Death Egg Zones.

    Burned, or burnt, not burninated.

    Still, UUK showed me a few pics a while back of this project, and I think it could go far!

    You don't need a Sonic 3 disassembly. The S&K disassembly has all of the Sonic 3 code. Sonic 3 is only used for the data, such as layouts, ring placement, mappings, art, ect. Also in Stealths S&K Disassembly he has all the data referenced at the end of the disassembly, some with locations in the Sonic 3 ROM.
