I send them an email about mine (especially since I managed to get #3 of the CE) and the rep said this:
Has anyone received their book yet? I tried to inquire from their website when to expect it, but for some reason cannot submit my question to customer support. Last thing I got from Cook & Becker was an email saying pre-orders would begin shipping on June 26th, so that's almost a month ago and nothing yet, no tracking number either... Not sure what's up?
Yes I was aware of your post, but thought maybe in the intervening week someone might know something further. So if you got your tracking number today then I will relax, and hopefully mine shows up soon also. Thanks!
Same here. UK boi. Book arrived middle of last week. Not sure how far apart they're staggering the shipping but they're normally pretty pro about these things.
I didn't preorder. Bought it sunday with shipping to Argentina, and got my tracking code two days ago, but everytime I try to query Track your Parcel, I get: Your parcel does not have tracking details yet. We suggest to try again tomorrow or contact your online retailer or seller directly. Is it normal? How many days should I wait?
It's normal, it just means they started the process and got the number but it hasn't actually been sent yet.
Got my book today! Looks like Sonic 3 is really not getting any love these days. No S3 level concept art in the book. No Taxman modern wide screen port. And if we don't get any Sonic 3 in Mania, I'm going to be pretty sad. Sonic 3 needs some loving! Sorry about my little rant here. The book is still pretty damned good though!
Any Fighters/Championship in it? There was a lot of great asset art from the game used on UFO prizes and other merch IIRC.
So I got my book and it's really cool. One small problem though. Two of my pages are stuck together and I don't want to ruin the book by pulling them apart. What should I do? Should I leave it? Contact Cook and Becker? Or would it be too late? EDIT: Pulled it apart, it wasn't hard. I thought it was more stuck than I thought, but the pages do have marks where they were stuck together so it does kind of bother me. Maybe I should contact Cook and Becker.
You mean like this? And what a shame I was looking forward to this spread the most. Also the box is torn: The book also has some very minor scratching and scuffs here and there. I'm not sure what to do... I purchased a collectors edition for a reason, and then the book shows up looking like it came out of a bin. The book itself if incredible. What should I do?
I contacted them on their website. The guy responded and asked me to show pictures and they'd send a replacement. I haven't gotten a response after I sent the pictures, but I should get one soon and I'll see what happens. I also purchased the collectors edition as well.
For the record, if it helps anyone: Eight days passed, and Track your Parcel didn't work. I contacted CandB, and they kindly resolved the issue for me: the URL with the tracking code was autogenerated with a bad postal code. Argentina (and other countries) use an alphanumeric postcode, but the tracking site only recognizes the numbers, so all I had to do was to strip the postcode of its letters, and it worked. Can't wait for the book to arrive!
FWIW my book also arrived damaged. It wasn't bubble wrapped very well and the top right corner is all mashed in for almost halfway through the book. Got the standard edition. Not sure if I'm gonna bug them for a replacement but shucks, $50 aint a cheap book.
So, they just got back to me yesterday after I sent my pictures to them on Friday, presumably because they're closed on weekends. They're sending me a new book free of charge since I got a production flaw copy. They didn't say I need to send the other one back, so I'm not sure what to do with it. But at least I'm getting a replacement.
My copy was from the first batch and had a scratched up page. They asked me to send it back to them which I did 14 days ago and I've still not got a new copy.
Looking at the quality of these photos combined with my experience owning similarly printed books in contrast to my million Udon books, I think I am glad this was a hard pass. 2,500 is also an extremely large number for the exclusive edition to be honest.
I just got my replacement book in. Seems perfectly fine now. Shout outs to Cook and Becker for sending it. Didn't get my tracking number though, so it kinda just came as a surprise today.
