What happened to the bass on that Sky Chase music? I thought I fixed it for you, but now the whole volume balance of the song sounds out of whack and the bass is too high. :\ Looking pretty slick, though! :v:
Seeing all this, it's tempting to offer my help in it, but I have enough work on my plate with a few things right now. Looks awesome, though.
While novel, the Super Sonic stage looks boring. I think you should at least speed up the scrolling. Everything else looks fun.
Yeah, this basically sums it up for me. There aren't enough rings coming by to make up for the ones that Sonic loses.
...you guys do notice that this was the original Sky Chase layout, right? I haven't designed the level yet. >_> It must have been attacked by Gremlins sometime between dragging it out of the "My Received Files" folder (after you sent the fix) and dropping it in the "sound" folder. Seriously, it was almost just drag-and-drop; the only thing I did in hex was modify the duration of all of the notes, so that I could use a new dividing timing. Reverted to original Sonic 2 sprites. There were new hanging sprites in there with the running sprite, but the free arm was out of whack, so the original might look better.
Actually, DNX heard from me many times after that, but must have failed to tell you that the reason I didn't do anything more was that I tore the ligaments in both ankles and smashed my knee in, resulting in a few hospital trips and my inability to walk for an extended period of time. Hacking was the least of my concerns then, and he was informed on the situation. If he didn't tell you, that's not my fault really.
Yes. But unless you turn it into Gradius, I still think it should be faster. It's not a big deal though.
Do you have the full music of what happens to sound like an Aquatic Ruin remix? I'd love to hear the rest of it. Also referring to Aquatic Ruin, that may be one of the better innovations for an old boss ever.
Rika did something similar in S2:AE. This still all looks great though. Make back-ups, I don't want to see this go down the shitter like so many other great hacks.
PLEASE DO CONTINUE And if you need help with titles and pixel-art in general please contact me. I would love to see this project on its final version <3
Well, I'm not really ready for any sort of formal release yet, but I start spring semester at university in ten days, I haven't heard from DNX in a month, and everybody else is canceling hacks, so I might as well put *something* out there. Here's what we've got so far.For the time being, hubs are disabled, since it'd make more sense to have them once I've actually got reasons to replay levels programmed in. This ROM's a simple marathon run from the beginning to the end, with the following acts finished: Intro Cascade Valley 1/2 Chemical Plant 1/2 Casino Night 2 Hill Top 1 Metropolis 1 Since I didn't have much new prepared ASM-wise (except that jump-dash is now any button, by popular demand), I've thrown in a little extra challenge for the nutjobs completionists. In every act except the Intro, there's seven Emerald monitors hidden. Pick them all up in one life for an emerald... what? You hated that in Sonic Advance 2? So did I, but again, this is for nutj completionists only. And trust me, after finishing one run through the entire game, I guarantee that you'll know where I hid them all. *wink, wink* Known Issues: - The credits sequence is way off center, plays inappropriate music, and is quite cheesy. It's worth a watch at least once just for the lulz. *wink, wink again* - The final boss music needs serious work. - Route-dependent, you can make early levels play themselves. I very much look forward to developing the harder levels in the back end of the game. :P EDIT: Almost forgot. If you nutjobs miss a monitor and want to restart the level, or if you just plain get stuck, pause and press A. If it's the latter case, tell me about it.
No, it's not canceled. I know, that makes me lame and not trendy. That's just how I roll. The current "release", if you can call stringing the levels together in order and adding a gimmick release-worthy, is because I don't know how classes'll be when I go back to college in a few days. If it's like every other year, it'll have absolutely no effect on progress, so no worries.
Yes!, Another release I hope you guys don't cancel this hack. Hm, why does this hack remind me of the game: Sonic Turbo
