    To be honest, I don't like D much. While combining the background of the screen as well as the background of the emblem is a good idea, I don't like it that much. That said, I'm also for C.

    is D possible, I thought the border had to be a solid colour?

    oh yes, that explains why sonic chaos was changed for the master system. Unless it's full screen, I wouldn't bother.

    Okay, you got me. Not only did seeing the phrase "Act 4" freak me out, but so did "Act 5". After that I was totally pissed but it ended in laughter.

    God damn you! Making me laugh! :argh:

    Well they did manage to spread out the graphics a little for Chaos' title screen, it uses a flat color background though:

    I think I've seen Master System ports with full screen title graphics, though don't know if any specific programming is put into it. It would probably explain why the title hasn't just been made full screen anyway.

    By the way, while I'm betting this has been asked a good few times already, will Tails be playable in later revisions?

    Uh, I quite don't understand the point of your post.

    It is obviously possible to have big graphics. We could make the entire title screen fullscreen if we wanted, upon changing the mappings.

    The only reason why it does not happens is because this project is an adaptation of the 8-bit game to look as much as possible to it's 16-bit counterpart, rather than a direct port of the latter.

    Also, because to do such a thing as altering the mappings would require the hack to be transposed to a disassembly, and currently, doc eggfan is just altering the original game with the available codes and resources, so we can't fall far from the boundaries of reality.

    Just completed EHZ, love it! I do have some questions though:

    1. I thought I heard somewhere that loops were working in LD, did I imagine that?
    2. Also, the Sonic LD page (http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_2_LD) says that Spin Dash was implemented... is my emulator playing up or is it not included?
    3. Finally, the areas where upward slopes have been removed; do you plan to implement them some day?

    Amazing work though, I loved the bonus levels :)

    From what I gather the loops and slopes are casualties of the amount of memory used by the corkscrew. I expect they would be very difficult to add for Emerald Hill Zone. As for the spindash, as far as I know it hasn't been added to a released build yet. (But will be added eventually)

    My point was about the border surrounding the title graphics rather than making it full screen, the previous comment seemed to suggest their were limitations to how this could be implemented and I was using Chaos' expanded graphics from the Master System port as an example. But yes lack of resources capable of editing such mapping space would be a valid reason as to why this problem occurs.

    I like C personally - not sure if D is possible to do, plus the fact the border colouring stretches along but the picture doesn't makes it look a bit weird =P

    I don't get it. What's with the weird reverse gradient above the buildings? There was nothing like that in the original stage, so...

    looks the best, but I'd also like to see how a dark red would look instead of the pitch black, even though it probably won't look that great due to the limited Master System palette. And if you can't make the text white due to the water or something, then try yellow. The gray just looks horribly dull.

    Just throwing it out there, though: I wasn't expecting each episode to have its own title screen... The first one had the standard Westside Island background from the original game, not Emerald Hill... Are you gonna go back and retcon it now that I've mentioned it? :3

    Well, the standard one kind of embodies the theme of Emerald Hill Zone, I just thought it would be nice touch to have a new title screen.
