Sonic 2 early prototype, dumped

  4. ok... this is a bit obvious, and may have been spotted before but two things:

    1) if u play boss zone (final zone) in 2p tails can go further on without crashing - but there are 2 probs
    -theres a bug where tails floor collision detection fizzles out and he falls
    to his death (ie the floor keeps resyncing, then dissapears, of course
    no debug for tails = no solution
    -theres a loop just after the initial screen - but its '4-ring switch points'
    (don't know proper name) isn't working, so you need debug to pass...
    and if sonic does it... pink screen ;)
    2) sonic has some extra animation when changing direction

    The name is path swapper. And it's not needed, Tails can just get directly in the "hole" without running for all the loop.
    Again, I noticed this thing days ago and I made a video, but no one was interested.

  10. Ok guys, I've spent a couple hours creating some PAR codes for you little cheaters out there (I apologize if somebody else hacked these first).

    FFFFE0:0001 Enable Level Select
    FFFFFA:0001 Enable Debug Mode
    FFFE2D:0002 Invincibility
    FFFE12:0009 Infinite Lives
    FFFE24:0001 Unlimited Time
    FFFE21:0001 Always Have 1 Ring

    This makes me anxious for the next revision of Sonic Long version. A new cyber city and levels altered even further.

    I wasn't really saying make it longer, but I would like to see the zones changed to match the ones here, at least the completed zones. But now that you mention it, he could make it longer by including the retooled Green hill zone. Unbroken hopefully.

    But GHZ was never intentionally going to be in Sonic 2, so technically it really shouldn't be in there. I thought the aim of Sonic 2 Long version was to make a Sonic 2 that has all the completed levels if they were all included, and if they used layouts and things from an old beta they aren't really complete at all, nor 'longer'.

    Don't take it personally though :).
