Download Screen Shots Original Topic of pre-release ->Delta v0.24 preview This version is not the same base (Sonic 2 rev 2 used here) as preview, but the same idea was used here with new features: - Title Screen is now animated (Sonic 2 Final with Sonic 2 Beta). - Sonic Object from Sonic 2 Final. - 7 emeralds, which now enable Super Knuckles, Miles e Sonic. - Sonic 2 Final Ending sequence with Sonic 1 Credits. - Sonic 1 Special Stage as Bonus Stage through LampPost with 50 rings. - HUD added in Bonus Stage - Sonic 2 Special Stage can be acessed like previews versions (Big Ring at end of levels with 50 rings). - Sonic 3 Title Cards style. - New Boss Meter HUD - Edited Sprites for Sonic 1 Levels to be compatible with Super Sonic / Knuckles / Miles. - Alpha Levels reused for EHz and HTz. - Custom Sonic 2 Beta Sound Driver with Two life Sounds one for Sonic / Miles and other for Knuckles. - Invencibility and Super Sound are player especific A lot of bug fixed: - Infinite Title Screen scrolling now works perfect while Sound Test is highlighted. - Illegal Instructions in Sonic 1 Levels - Colisions in Sonic 1 Levels - Fixed some undocumented bugs while defeating Boss Like ARz, CNz and MCz Boss. Well, this is completely out of the blue.. I mean it's been a good three years. Glad you've finally come around and got it done. I seriously thought you were gone for good since the last time you released anything.
I love when one of the earlier breakthrough projects gets revived. Still think this project had the best Hidden Palace layout. Wasn't Long Version getting refined again as well?
Ever since I've joined here, Sonc 2 Delta was one of my favourite hacks. It has not changed, and I'm very glad to see another release. Welcome back, Esrael!
I feel like I got sent back to 2007, where this hack made me join the scene after I discovered a video on YouTube about it. It's always good to relive nice memories. Great job!
Wait, what? What year is this? Wow, this made my day. Legendary hack, legendary hacker, calmly posting an update as if it was only last week he said this: Awesome.
Wow it's great to see you again Esrael. The Delta series of hacks have been a few of my favorites and it's great to see that you're still working on them. I'll definitely be downloading this once I get off work tonight and giving it a go. ^_^ I hope that I'll be getting a flash cart for my birthday so I can play this on actual hardware as well. :3
I didn't know you were still around. Welcome back, Esrael (though I wasn't exactly here when you left)
I updated the wiki with the new release: http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_2_Delta I haven't addressed any potential changes to the list of levels and other features, but it's better than nothing.
Wow. The legendry Esrael. Never thought I'd see an update on Delta since my presence on Retro. Looking forward to this with great interest!
Fuck yes :v: ! S2D! I cant believe that this got another update after all these years! Epic stuff, and with that said... *goes to play it whole...again*
Hey man, amazing to see you still working on this; I remember downloading this years ago, along with ESEII when I had just discovered a rom hacking community actually existed. (This is going back what,4, 5? ...6 Years? Possibly more?) So far it's amazing, familiar but with that strange 'undiscovered build' of Sonic 2 feel to it; which I love. The only problem I encountered was when playing as Knuckles & Tails in Winter Hill, Knuckles couldn't attack the boss; only Tails could make contact. (I imagine Sonic can, I didn't have a lot of time to play.) Can anybody recreate this? Or did I just do something to break it without knowing? :v:
I see you didn't fix the spindash bug in GHZ. xP (If you spindash too fast through the S loops, the player dies because of the bottom boundary not updating accordingly.) That's the only bug I've spotted.
Was not expecting to see this come back again. Was actually going through some old hacks in a folder the other day and played version 0.20. Awesome work though, I'll have to give it a proper play sometime this weekend.
There is a bug with the ARZ boss... that causes the animals to look all red and fiery. This is a rare bug, and the fix, I do believe... is documented in the Sonic 2 Heroes thread. Not a big deal but might wanna fix it. It's caused when you get the timing on the last hit of the boss just right.
