I've made an interesting Discovery!!
In Sonic 2 Beta, there is infact a speed up code in the
sound select  , FB, its also in Sonic 2 Final.. 7B, so this now raises the question... Why didn't sega put the speed up code into action?

I am, it's pretty interesting. Mabye Sega didn't put the music into effect at the time of our beta, they did it after our beta and before the final.

Has anyone else found this or is this my own fantastic discovery of the sonic 2 beta at last?

on another topic someone said that the music does speed up slightly. I think, I'm yet to look into it. <_<

Nope, it's been proven there is a slight speed-up in the music too.

Really? I guess my computer is too slow to process it... (I test out everything for something weird (recorded the "speeded up" music and the normal music one time))

I justed it and it only sped up Music for me... o.0

  10. Of course there's a thing to speed up the music. Sonic 1 had a thing like that, did it not? Sonic 2 Beta is built off Sonic 1, is it not?

Nothing that concerns this place in the least.
I've never known anything about this. I've played all sounds in the Sound Test before, and I don't remember it speeding Sonic up.

It's difficult, but if you hack a 1-Up monitor next to a speed-shoes monitor, the 1-Up sound effect has sped up.

I've scanned through sonic 1 already, and it did not show any signs of speed up via the sound codes...

that's pretty weird why Sega would have one. But I have a theroy.

When you get the speed shoes, the game plays sound FB (final 7B) and the music goes into speed mode, and all sounds have their own properties. (Which explains why some ssounds barely have a speed up, and others have an incredibly noticible sppeed up) When it is done, it selects FC (final 7C) to go into normal speed mode.

The Emerald Hill music does speed up. It is just very hard to notice.

Proof? Change an object in Dust Hill 1 to a sheed shoes monitor. Hit it, and you can defently tell the music is going faster.

I dunno why we're going back to another topic, even simon said the music speeds up. This probably happens in all the levels. So why are we saying that on some PC's it works and on others it doesn't IT'S THE SAME BETA!

No Offense but this has been noticed before....

  20. well heres something strange that's a little off topic:

You can do a glitch where you jump and sonic does his running animation instead of doing his jumping animation. Or to put it in better terms, you can do the same walk in mid air glitch as in Sonic 1. Its easier to do on Dust Hill (Mystic Cave) act 1. Just place one of those rotating rings you can stand on and Sonic will sometimes do the glitch if you jump.
