http://www.tssznews.com/2009/10/13/arcade-sonic-2-on-ebay/ It's a german auction. Donate me 220 dollars, faggots =P
And the link to the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sonic-the-Hedgehog-2-A...=item2ea85bda7e Does that motherboard have the capability to connect 4 cartridges? Nice.
This is a full Joystick (!) playable Version of Sonic the Headgehog 2 Spelling aside, I can play Sonic 2 with a joystick easily, the port on the MD works with your common or garden 8-bit joystick as seen on the C64 amongst others.
Except for the Start button, of course. The joystick button is B (and if it's SMS-style with two fire buttons then the second is C).
For anyone curious as to what is on the cart. http://sonar.heranbago.com/roms/Mega%20Play/mp_soni2.zip That is a rip of one. It's iirc MegaPlay. It's an arcade built from the Genesis (or the other way around, I dunno) so there is a ton in common. Edit: Didn't read the article, I suck cocks. Edit2: http://segaloco.spinfxrocks.com/S2-Megaplay.bin.7z since the SonAR version hasn't been byteswapped. X_X
However, A and Start take the place of B and C when setting the switch line low. Thereby the second button would act like C+Start, and somewhat work (although forget about entering cheats with it).
So has anyone started taking a look assembly wise with the differences between this version and the retail version? About a month or so ago I was trying to do a quick disassembly of the MegaPlay version of Sonic 1 but gave up after lack of interest from both me and everyone else.
I actually started on that the other day, but just had a complete crash of my system. It's back up and running now, but I gotta get IDA Pro again, as well as rewrite my interleaver for MegaPlay data. I really should back this stuff up...
