I started a little project. I want to port all 'technical' stuff from Sonic 1 US to Japanese version.
    Current release has 4 patches:

-Spindash (Original code by Esrael, port by Hivebrain)
-Gliding (Original code by Mask Of Destiny, port by me)
-Splats the badnik (Original code by Hivebrain, port by me)
-Super Sonic (Original code by Cyan Helkeraxe, port by me)

I will make more soon. I wish that some day Sonic 1 Jap will become as popular as the US version, because it has the cool ripple effect =P

    Download here.

    Sounds cool, but I'm confused....

    US to Japanese?

  3. I think what he means is instead of hacking sonic 1 US people should use sonic 1 JAP, because it has the scrolling clouds in GHZ, ripples in the water in LZ and so on, and I agree I do like sonic 1 JAP better, but when you apply all those patches it kinda doesn?t work

Gliding, Splats and Super Sonic should work in every Japanese rom together. But, Spindash and Credits collide with each other (because some data is put on the end of the rom) and you have either to move one patch somewhere else and change the pointers or just choose which patch will you use.

I'll try to fix that later.

The Japanese ROM still has some unfixed things: The rolling badnik has a corrupted tile in one of the rolling frames. And Eggman's button demo has corrupted legs when preparing to jump.

And of course the jumping (non spinning Sonic) bug. And the way you can't use debug when Sonic's hit or is dying.

All the background scrolling tables where fixed as where the level select order. And another level select code when booting from a Japanese version.

    Is there anything I've forgotten?
