The windows logo and batman sign are great.

 

Windows logo's special ability is to randomly cause the game to lock up and change the screen blue. And in Vista mode, it asks you every 3 seconds whether you want to move when you hold the dpad down or jump when you press a button.

Aside from the clouds (which you already pointed out), the green in the background is rather dark and the lighting on the hills doesn't seem to match with the tree you have in the foreground.

Also, the water's really bright, try darkening that too. Looks good for a start though. =)

 

The clouds are connected to each other, try dis-connecting them into different chunks. The water, should be toned town, maybe try putting the same things above the water but reversed? Other than that, great job!
